WTF? NATS won TWO in a ROW!!!
Two dancing bananas for that.
And against the best team in the American League again - Tampa Bay
Soto returned after missing 5 games with sore elbow, went 1-2 with an RBI and two intentional walks (I'd walk that guy too)
Decent starting and relief pitching, and a good closer. (I think I see a key to winning here) That, and the Nats actually got hits when had men on base instead of stranding them like they've been doing. 5 runs on 7 hits.
Actually....boxscore shows Nats did leave 13 LOB, so that's not great, but they DID manage to drive in some runs.
Although not sure how we had 13 Left on Base when we had only 7 hits and 4 walks and no errors by Tampa....and 5 of those runners scored? 7 hits and 4 walks is 11 base runners minus 5 scoring leaves 6 LOB. The math doesn't add up. I'm guessing there must have been a bunch of FC or something?
Trea Turner gets another double, another RBI, stolen base, etc, etc.
Lots of chipping in from utility guys all over, so all around well played game.
Honorable mention: Brock Holt - aka "the Brock Star" is 10 for last 13 and has helped win games with his hitting of late. Pretty much a utility guy who the Nats picked up 2-3 weeks ago for some unknown reason, but he's filled in for Soto in LF (even though he's kind of a utility infielder). He is batting over .400 as a Nat in limited games played.
GO NATS!
