On the bright side....

Soto hit yet another home run last night in his 1st at bat in the 2nd inning.

This guy is something else at the plate.  They threw up a comparison between him and Willie Mays in their first 250 games and the hitting numbers are nearly identical comparing batting average, home runs, OBS, etc.  Soto is two years younger than Mays was for their first 250 games played.

The Nationals and Phillies postponed Thursday night’s series finale at Nationals Park to protest Sunday’s shooting of Jacob Blake by a Kenosha, Wis., police officer.

ARE YOU SHITTING ME?

If and when there is ever a REAL MLB season again....I hope all the cops boycott providing any security for any of the players ever again.

This is nothing but a political stunt.  Tell me how a bunch of super spoiled rich baseball players will EVER have anything in common with someone wrongfully or justly shot by a police officer, and how them not playing a game in protest will have any effect on anything that happened.

and I am NOT say THIS is the case in the instance, but WHY would you ever align yourself on the side of a criminal doing something criminal?

I heard the Caps refused to play tonight as well...oh wait...um...nevermind

Now the NHL has postponed the playoffs for at least two days to join the so-called protest. Fucking idiots!

So here comes my Monday morning arm chair RANT for the Nats...

Jesus Nats!
Their shitshow series with Phillies and worse yet with Boston planted the Nats firmly in the cellar of the division
The freakin Nats went 1-4 against these 2 bottom feeder teams.
1-2 against Boston?  Boston?

Nats are 3-7 in the last ten and now have fewer (or as few) wins as ANY team in baseball with the exception of Shittsburg who only has 10 wins

Four teams have 12 wins...(and here's a weird clue for success...the teams with the fewest wins are all cellar dwellers)
  • Nats
  • Boston
  • Texas
  • LA Angels

Nats are 12-19 just past halfway through the "season" and are 6.0 games back from the Braves.  Nats have 29 games left to pick up 6.0 games....not going to happen my friends.  And forget about the Wild Card spot...the current Wild Card team has a better record than the Braves.

Our team pitching sucks.  Team ERA is 5.06 which ranks us 22/30 teams.... above only the likes of Pissburgh, LA, Texas, Arizona, Philthy, Seattle, Detroit, Boston
Scherzer and Corbin actually not bad, but we have nothing after that.  With a five man rotation where you have only two viable starters....well I guess you only win about 39% of your games.
Max is 3-1, Corbin 2-2 on the season, but if they don't have extremely good outings that go late into the game, we can't win.
And the others....Sanchez 1-4, Vauth 0-3, Stras 0-1
We actually have 6 wins from 6 different pitchers in the bullpen, but 5/6 of those wins have literally been 1 inning pitched, so I think that is a bit of an anomaly for them to get wins, but good for them.
Generally speaking you would hope your bullpen is not deciding the wins and losses, but rather preserving wins...which is not the case.  Bullpen is 6-7....that's way too many games decided in the bullpen, but if you have weak starters, I guess that is going to happen.
I will say two bright spots in the pen are Tanner Rainey (1-0, 1.26 ERA, has allowed 2 runs in 14.1 innings in 14 games) and Kyle Finnegan (1-0, 1.38 ERA, 2 runs in 13 innings in 13 games)Why not give these guys more work?  Maybe they are one-inning specialists - I don't know and certainly not an expert but their numbers look good.

Our hitting actually has improved greatly and team average is one of the best in baseball....would think even with sub-par pitching our hitting would win us some games.  Problem is we leave so many runners on base.

I tried watching yesterday and the game was over by the 3rd inning.  It was mostly unwatchable.  "Starting pitcher" gave up 5 runs in 1st two innings, followed by 3 more in the 3rd by the next guy.  8 runs allowed in 3 innings?  Then four guys over 4 innings allowed 1 run (yeah, that only adds up to 8 innings, but as usual the Nats opponent did not bat in the ninth...)
And the Nats - despite their excellent team average left 10 runners on base, and went 1 for 7 with runners in scoring position.  OOFAH.

It's not just over, it's way over.  I wasn't expecting dominance this season but how about just being competitive or at least watchable on a lazy Sunday afternoon.  I chose to actually go hang drywall over continued watching of this BS on my one and only day off.

It's a joke of a season anyway, but have some self-respect.  Sum bitches are payed ridiculous amounts of money to play a game (that is not that hard).  I'm not saying they are not incredible at what they do, but the game is not as physically demanding as other sports  (other than the schedule and travel)

Sherzer is about the only one showing some compete.  He must be a real sum bitch to deal with.

Hopefully we get it turned around and the game is at least fun to watch for the bottom half of the season.

And to end on a positive note...Soto batting .358, Turner .350

Can't believe this team can't win with all this talent...although you need more than 2 solid starting pitchers

Go Nats!

Okay just fucking repeat my rant from Monday morning
Fucking Nats lose to Fucky Filthy AGAIN
We have two players worth mentioning:
Trey Turner goes 4 for 4. Juan Soto goes Yard TWICE for his 11th homer in only 24 games. Four RBIs

Nats get 11 hits and 6 runs. Stranded 7 runners

Philthy gets 8 runs on 7 hits

Feta cheese gives up two solo HR in the 1st two innings and then a 4 run 4th inning. He settles down pretty well but settling down after 6 runs in 4 innings is a little late.
Nats work they way back in the game making it 6-4 in the seventh and then Nats decide it’s too close so they bring in Fucking Suero to give the two runs right back In the bottom of the seventh.
Nats start ninth with an out and then Turner Beats out a dribbler for his fourth hit of the game followed by Soto’s second bomb of the night. Drama ends there as the Nats have no other players worth mentioning

Oh...Dolittle did have a nice three up three down 9th inning

Shitty fucking pitching is killing the Nats

Trey and Soto are the Very top 2 hitters in the entire league right now Batting .377, 367

Too bad they are on a sinking ship

Anthony Rendon is batting 291 currently, 6 HR, 19 RBI

He does play for the lowly Angels though.  Hope he's enjoying the weather, cause that team is garbage.  The Angels have only 12 wins on the season and occupy the cellar of their division.

IF he'd stayed in Washington, at least he'd be on a .....er.....um....well, never mind again.

Philthy has won 7 of their last 8 games.  (well Duh...they've been playing the NATS)

In all fairness...they did beat Atlanta 2/3 during that span.

They did beat the NATS the ALL FIVE times they've faced us this season (one was pre-season)

I'm SURE the Nats will not lose EVERY game to Philthy this year....even a blind squirrel....

Maybe the Nats are just being tricky and they are intentionally throwing the season to get 1st round draft pick next year.   :P

yep, Nats efed up letting Rendon walk, they should've made a real effort to resign him.
I think it could've been done, even though he has that asshole for an agent

Jesus NATS!  lost again to Philthy - two shutouts in a row.
Nats have dropped 7 of last 8

Scherzer decent job - allowed 3 runs, but zero scored by the Nats still results in Loss.

(He did strike out Mr Harper 3x times and walked him once)  :uh-huh:

Nats are 1 of four teams with 12 or fewer wins.

We right there with the lowly Boston (12w), LA Angels(12w) and Shitsburgh(10w)

the Nats deserve this for taking a day off to protest the shooting a criminal

A criminal with a warrant for sexual assault...who was NOT there to "break up a fight" as reported on social media, but was rather the source of the altercation which resulted in a 911 call...and him resisting arrest....and.

Fucker is probably going to get paid.  So stupid.  Yeah, let's reward the criminal's for criminal activity and punish the police who are attempting to do their jobs.

Freakin NATS lose AGAIN.

gave the game away.  Managed to go ahead 6-5 in the top of 7th, then give up a run in the bottom of the 8th to tie....and give up a run in the bottom of 10th for the Loss.

Nice Bullpen.

Trea continues to look awesome.  2 hits, 3 RBI included an inside the park HR.  Fun watching that dude run.

Nats are 1-9 in their last 10.  Philthy is 9-1 in their last 10.

Nats have 12 wins...along with Boston, and Shitsburgh has 11.  Cmon guys...hold on, you can get all the way to the cellar of the entire league
