The same people that are at risk of serious complications with the flu are the same people that are at serious risk with the wuhan flu. In all aspects this appears to be just another strain of flu.

Multi millions have likely had it and not known it, multi millions have had it and shown no more symptoms than a common cold, multi millions have had it and thought was just the regular flu. With North America suddenly being able to test multi millions for this specific virus is it any wonder there are suddenly thousands of more cases?

So far in North America the survival rate exceeds %98 with no more lasting effects than the normal flu.
So far the wuhan flu is very very slow to mutate, which means it's very easy for the general population to develop a resistance to it. The only way to do that is to be exposed, either by getting the flu or by getting a vaccine. Having a vaccine ready for the approximately 340,000,000 Americans isn't going to happen any time soon. It usually takes six months to grow half that.

the most recent numbers from Johns Hopkins(updated daily):
  Infections:
     wuhan flu:
        worldwide: 1,131,713
         U.S.: 278,458
     regular flu:
         worldwide: est. 1,000,000,000
           U.S.: 10M to 45M per year
 Deaths:
     wuhan flu:
        worldwide: 59,884*
         U.S.: 7,159
    regular flu:
        worldwide: 300,000-650,000 anually
         U.S.: 12,000-61,000 anually

* China still claims about 3500 dead in the hubei provence which we all know is a lie

based on those numbers, which one is the pandemic??? Yet if you listen to the democrat run(provable fact) press that hates the trump adminstation, we are all going to die in a couple days from the wuhan flu if we so much as stand within 2 feet of another person. This same press has been using the model for infections and deaths developed by scientist Neil Furguson. His model has been proven to be well overstated, i.e. wrong. He's already been forced to lower his death prediction in England from 500,000 to 20,000. That's a hell of an adjustment, and still very likely to be high.

A couple years ago I told my doctor why I don't get a flu vaccine, she had no response. Am I concerned about the wuhan flu? Yes, but no more that the regular flu.

and saying no is not the same as wishing for it to happen

I'm beginning to suspect something
The biggest difference in comparing this virus to the flu is that these numbers for this virus are from such a short period of time and when extreme precautions have been taken. I think 278,000 infected in the past month is a pretty high number. Where would those numbers be if no precautions were taken?
Like you I don't get a flu shot either. Never have. For some unknown reason I never get the flu. I haven't really had any kind of illness in several years. My wife on the other hand gets a flu shot every year and still gets sick.

I'm just wondering why the world is taking this virus so serious compared to others. Is there something about this virus they aren't telling us.

you don’t seem to be absorbing everything I’ve written. We are suddenly, as in the last month, able to specifically test for the wuhan flu in mass numbers. Grade school statistics should tell you that we will get a sudden increase in confirmed infections.

When you look at everything else that kills humans in great numbers, this wuhan flu hardly fits the definition of pandemic. A vast majority of the problem is the media hype.

So I should believe you more than Dr. Fauci who knows more about infectious diseases than probably anyone in this country.  Sorry but this problem is not media hype.  Unfortunately this problem is real and unlike anything I have experienced.  It is also driving me crazy.

I base my opinion on world wide reports of this thing, not just the U.S. and by doing my own research instead of listening to the press in this country, specifically ignoring the press whose only goal appears to be getting trump in a gotcha moment every day rather than actually report the facts to the people.

I start here, the numbers appear to be updated as soon as they are available which is sometimes twice daily.....

Yep, the news networks are taking this to the bank!!  Now they’re gonna put Fredo on a cross and martyr him to boost their ratings.

Your also correct that the Nazis that have takin over the Democratic Party are also loving this.  They are using for their own benefits, agendas, and are deliberately doing things that will increase the infection and fatality rates for their own benefit.

How anyone can not only see this, but standup and be counted  goose-stepping terrorists after this is simply baffling.

Pretty sure you saw the same programme, or at least something very similar to me a month or so ago.
The 1918 flu pandemic.

Starting with the young farmer in ... Kansas? wasn't it?  A deviation of bird flu which the young man contracted, then got conscripted and took the disease to training camp, then his boat, then . well, pretty much everywhere.....
That develped into what ws called the  "Spanish" flu thet killed more people than both World Wars put together.
Many people die from flu every year.  The old, the young and the vulnerable.  Those with underlyiing health issues.
THIS i\S NOT your ordinary bog standard winter chill.  Surely you muct know this by now?
Countries don't shut borders 'cos a few people have the sniffles luv.
Even if you are strong and healthy and can fight off the virus, what about the other people that you come in to contact with?  What if you spread the virus to you neighbours, their young children and elderly?  You going to go to their funerals?  Oh... wait... You won#t be able to, will you.

Natural selection?
Maybe it would be as well if some of us more robust mentally would stay alive, as well as the more physically robust.....  jus' sayin'

Yeah, we're all gonna die, right?'

As usual, that didn't come across exatly how I meant.    ::)
I just want some of you guys to be a little more considerate.
These measures wouldn't have been put in place WORLDWIDE if it was just your bog standard flu.
Right now you need to listen to the doctors, not the politicians.
Please, please be carefull peeps.   :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

Is this not how the normal flu spreads and kills millions every year?

Did Macco just hack Lils account? When did recognizing reality mean I want people to die? This thing is out in the environment now, there is nothing we can do about that. Are we going to shut down the worlds economy for 3-5 months every year when this thing is in season? That's not feasible, on any level.

the screen names Maccoshark and KollieOlizig both go back to the same computer, meaning they are the same person.

Every computer has an Internet address, your desktop, laptop, phone, tablet, these new refrigerators, even tv if you've connected it to wifi. It doesn't matter where in the world you move that computer, it still has that same address. It's how you get tracked for adverts.
