Canada. When it comes to defending yourself our laws are fucked. I could tell you some stories.

That's what I thought (Canada)
, and I have no problem with using lethal force to defend's oneself or family from an actual bad guy(s) or actual hostile situation.
Problem is, we have way too many stupid people carrying guns (and stupid people in general) who are looking for trouble or have grand ideas about a shootout with bad guys or whatever, but really have no training, experience, or even real awareness to deal with a real life situation

remember when NASCAR was good? This is why i was a stock car fan, if Indy or F1 tried this at least one car would've been airborne ...

these days NASCRAP would've had at least two cautions with less than 5 to go

that and Tony George ruined open wheel racing in this country when he split Indy cars from CART, and further ruined his reputation when he changed the Indy 500 start time with the sole intention of stopping drivers from driving 1100 miles on Memorial Day

I have never been a race fan...I understand it's completely different being there in person

Who's the NASCAR pit-babe?

NASCAR has been hiring girls to stand there and smile for a long time, since the late '90s it's obvious who they are because they wear that fake fire suit with the main sponsor on it, it was still Winston back then, back in the day it also meant free tobacco products at the track

JR Renoylds pulled out on their own accord, said they couldn't afford to be the series sponsor anymore. Which I believe with the big reduction in smoking in this country. I said at the time, what NASCAR should've done is buy the name Winston from them, I think it would've been benificial for long term stability of the sport to keep the name, rather than change the name every few years when the sponsorship changes. It could've easily been done, called the "Winston Cup sponsored by soandso".  and NASCAR had a longtime ban on liquor sponsorships that was lifted fairly recently, our 8 year recession combined with that dictator France set NASCAR back about 10 years. It used to be damn near impossible to get tickets to the 160,000 seat Bristol races, these days they are lucky to fill half of it. NASCARs downfall started when they over reacted to Kenseth winning the championship without winning a race. Everyone knew it was possible, but no one seemed to care until it happened. And I really don't that many people were upset that it did happen. The following year is when we got "the chase" with 10 drivers in it, then a few years latter it was increased to 12 drivers when NASCARs poster boy didn't qualify with the 10.

Well, in all fairness. . .givin we should stay at home and all, this is a hell of a time to shoot and see what ya can blow up.   However, this is frowned upon if ya live downtown or in suburbs

Please explain what the heck I am looking at. My best guess is you shot a container of Tannerite.

Have I mentioned lately I miss hockey.  :'(

And I'm frigging bored. Even though I work like a dog.. a very long work day.

Have I mentioned...

that although I have always been partial to regular or full size handguns, that I absolutely love my Sig 365XL and it has now become my everyday Carry.  A trooper buddy of mine suggested it to me.  I was never a fan of the smaller guns (even though I do not have big hands), but this pup shoots like a champ.  The XL has a slightly longer barrel (than the 365) and holds 10+1 in standard mag, and 12+1 in extended. (talking 9mm here)  I carry it with the regular mag and it shoots like a dream.  Easy to put and keep on target.  The only issue I have with it is the mag release spring is very tight and it takes some effort for me to release it with my thumb.  Maybe with time I will learn to technique it better...or strengthen my thumb, but I think it is because the grip is narrow and shorter than I am used to, so it takes a conscience effort not to get the bottom/palm of my hand in the way of the ejecting mag, whilst pressing the release.  (I am used to the longer grip of regular sized guns)
Anyway, fabulous gun.  It shoots so much better (accurately) than I expected from a gun this size.

I also have a Sig 320C in 45 auto, which was my carry gun prior to the 365XL.  I do love this gun and it also shoots very well (as do all Sigs).  I prefer a .45 for a carry gun, but the XL is easier to conceal carry for a guy with current....let's say...physique.  (I might just currently be sporting my middle age spread)

Which brings me to a question...  I conceal carry with a IWB holster on my strong side at about the 3:30 position with the weapon canted at angle (grip forward, barrel down and back).  Mostly due to that's where it fits my waistline for standing, sitting and driving without digging the grip into my spare tire or the muzzle into hip/ass...for the most part.  (and yes I realize this is not a question)
The question is...for concealed carry, what do you carry (weapon) and how/where do you carry it, AND....mostly my question was....has anyone tried the Urban Carry G3 type holster?  It is kind of a mini-purse type deal with a flap you grap and pull up and it draws the holster/weapon sort of up out of your pants?  It seems there are very positive reviews on it and they swear it will be your go to method of conceal and draw once you get used to it.  Although, I carry locked and loaded and my weapon has no manual safety, so even though I am confident in my own trigger awareness and the mechanism that actually fires the weapon, I kind of cringe when I see guys who pack the gun kind of pointed toward their own junk (or femoral artery)

Curious to hear from some of you experience folks (and novices too)

Replied in PM.

Well I have no problem with people protecting themselves in a reasonable but even that has gotten me in trouble.

his '93 season is why they put in roof flaps...

that sure sounds like George Michael at the end, I thought The Sports Machine had gone under by then, killed by cable tv
I remember George Michael well. It sounded a little like him, but I really don't think it was.

you do know how NASCAR started? there's another part of their problem, they've been trying too hard to grow outside of their base market. I remember when they went to Japan for a couple years for an exhibition race, looking back that was really stupid, they would've had better results if they went to England, would've been far cheaper too

years ago, like 20, the washington post ran these 4-6 page season opening previews with drivers, teams, tracks, then there seasonal coverage consisted of two paragraphs on the last page of the sports section the day after the race, for 43 weeks of the year. There's another sport that should shorten it's season by three weeks
