Well I don't know the guy, but he did play for a team with a good defense last year.  Not all that big though.

SURE HOPE Fever comes back strong next year.  He is our most solid D man IMO

Let's see what tomorrow brings (please not rat, please no rat, please no rat)

okay i see the point of signing him and giving up a 3rd, but instead they gave up a 2nd to guarantee him.  The 6th round is peanuts.  I mean...a sixth round pick...that's 181 - 212 picks into a total of 224 pick draft.  Thats not far from "undrafted"  I mean its still a pick and Im sure you could get a player that develops into something, and there has to be some value on a 6th round pick, but...it aint much in trade value.  Or am i just undervaluing the 6th round?

I don't know or follow the AHL guys at all so i have no idea who this guy is or what he is worth, but this does seem a little odd.
Looks like a 3C to me.  Maybe its goodbye to Lars.

These guys are years away. July 1st is when the real fun starts! See what they can do in FA!  :cross:

Interesting draft. Seems like they are now going for more size in general. I liked what they did and they almost got Fiddler in the second round.  It's going to be more interesting to see what they do with signing new guys.

That being said, this year is a transition year as Ovi and Carlson contracts come off after this coming season.

Yep, nothing special (as expected) from the draft.

Big forward. Looks like he was the BPA at Round 1-27.  Lot of people had him as a top 15 pick. 18 years old, 6'4" 200# LW

I don't see how it's a good pick for anything.. A 2nd and 6th for an AHL RFA is nuts. I guess we'll see if the scouts saw something everyone else doesn't..

And he has to clear waivers to send him to Hershey. So, he's gonna be on the roster or they'll risk losing both those picks for nothing.

I've seen multiple explanations of the RFA process and how we basically could of gotten him for less by making an offer FL couldn't match, then only giving up the 3rd round pick..

Looks like a good pick for regular season success. The playoffs though, are a different animal.

Don't care how they spin it, this is a head scratcher.. Kid is 5'11" 170# basically zero NHL experience and a RFA.. We gave up a 2nd and 6th to get him?

Starting to realize all those good moves before last year we're majority made by GMBM..  :-\
