No shit, that front stretch from s/f down to oval turn1 was not even open I don't think. They claimed they still sold about the same as a cup oval race there. 60k ish.. They must of been spread all over the course if that was the case.

So let me get this straight....The Nationals traded the best hitter in baseball, with likely the brightest future in the MLB (Jaun Soto), AND another MLB quality player (Josh Bell, 1B) away to another team for.....one mediocre MLB player (1B) and 5 prospects?

This team.....must be a Washington team.

Trading a 23 year old Soto in the early years of his prime is like trading Ovechkin at age 23....for a couple bags of pucks.  Of course baseball is different and Soto was going to walk off to free agency, so I guess the Nats traded him to get something out of it.  Maybe if they hadn't signed a worn out Strasburg to a ridiculously long contract, and let Rendon walk, let Harper walk, and traded Trea Turner, and traded Max Scherzer, then Soto might have been interested in that $440 million dollar contract to stay and possibly win.  Fuck, I don't blame him for wanting off this trash team.  Spend the rest of his career on a trash team?  He is still going to get paid and no way can the Padres afford to keep him.  Padres already the 5th highest team salary in baseball (sure surprised me).  They can't afford another $30mil on top of that to sign Soto next year.  Well, maybe they can, WTF do I know about baseball.  Do they even have a salary cap?

Washington sports franchises sure do find a way to destroy any hope a fan has...of being a fan.

The Nats have been trading off their prime talent for a few years now, most likely because they still need money to overpay Strawberry for pitching about 5 games a year. The team went woke, and now they are for sale. meh, I haven’t watched baseball ever since they moved the all star game from a predominantly black city to a predominantly white city over a lie about racism

The Phillies swept the Nats 4 game series this weekend:   5-4, 7-2, 11-5, 13-1.
(Apparently the Nats used up their "good" pitching the first two games)

Nats now 34.5 games back.

At this pace they will end the season 53W, 109L
At Met's pace they will end season 104W, 58L
IF both teams continue at same pace, that would put the Nats roughly 51 games back at close of regular season

For crimany sakes, the Nats won the World Series in 2019 - only THREE years ago

I’m tempted to watch Richmond today, since I’ve spent so much time there in the past. But it doesn’t look the same with half the grandstands removed, and I won’t be able to see the end of it before it’s time to cook dinner.

Nats pretty much continued their pace over the weekend with 1w, 2L to the Padres.

Nats 37.5 Games back.  I don't think they will get to 50GB, but hey, they still have 46 games to play. :-|

Richmond was decent. Tire strategy race as usual. Only thing was the stupid stages. Every time the lead heated up, the stage would end. Same at the end of the race. Bell (and Hamlin, who's crew fucked him again this week) were on different tire strategy. Bell needed 1 or 2 more laps to get to/beside Harvick at the end. Hamlin was 2 sec. ahead of Bell when they pitted, so he'd of been there as well.. Was still a decent race, but nothing spectacular. Watching Kyle Busch and others run the top for a while was fun.. Just burned up their tires though, so they'd give back almost everything they gained by the end of the run.

Good for Nicky.  Sucks to be in pain.  Hope this surgery resolves that for good.  Hope he makes it back too, but I am doubtful that happens.

So am I just pessimistic in regards to Nicky actually coming back as a quality impact player in the NHL?  Or am I realistic and the Caps n such are just blowing smoke about him returning this year....or ever?
I mean I am sure he is in incredible shape for a 35 year old, but it's hip surgery.  And hips are kind of important to professional athletes, no?

Go Nicky.  Go Caps.  T-minus two months.  WOOT!

I think it just means he can put on his socks and shoes pain free.. And Im sure he "hopes" he can return to the Caps, but that's still quite a stretch, imo. At least as anything more then a bench warming penalty killer or something. Surely hope Im dead wrong though!  :praying:
