Olesniak is one of the best fighters in the league, so he “can’t play”, unless it’s for a team that won* two Cups*. . . But here it shows he is not used to, or good at the very few that are taller than him:

Make no mistske, the Hens got him to target Willie and the rest of the Caps, and to let their trash do what ever they want because he is an enforcer they few can answr (and probably a better Dman than at least half of ours) . . .   Funny, I think I’ve been suggesting this same strategm for years, now it’s being used to humiliate us because this orginization won’t nut up. . .

A compent ownership/management with a  collective spine, pair, and brains would go sign one or two 6’7”+ psychpaths that can at least make the minimum NHL standards, and target HIM thus neutralizing  the him and their plans for him.

Yes, the trendy’s will say “this is goonimg it up,that’s baaaad :'( ”, or “but we need guys that can playyy :'( .   To which I say:  “so fuckin what?  Quit crying about your ideals and grow up”.  I am suggesting nothing more than simultaneously addressing a weakness, thwarting and opponents strategy to take away there strength. . .

I’m suggesting a tactical business plan, not ideological entertainment.

Totally agree with you on this DC.

The needs should cancel out our wants.
...if what we want isn't what we need. ;)

Right now the front office's wants are killing the team.

Those were some serious haymakers!!

DC - thanks for posting these.   In may be a bit pugalistic of me, but I enjoy watching these fights.  I'm in the growing minority of people who still think there's still a role for enforcers in the league.

Thanks man!

I don’t believe that we’re in a minorty, unless we’re sitting in a row full of soccer moms and/or dads that carry one of there “books on parenting” with theb at all times. It’s  just “virtue markering”  along with most the NHL scams.

There is just no concrete evidence that say “fighting turns fans away”, on the other han, in any fight  the arena goes crazy, and the fights get mire watches and tweetes etc.   Those layman observations alone questions the integrity of their  “fans don’t like fighting” jargon

I enjoy this thread. I still enjoy a good fight. Always will. We should start a thread with big hits. My favorite part of the game.

Well I could just start looking for the Supplimental Marketing, er I mean discipline videos that are released since that’s where most of the good hits will end up

While I acknowledge that it’s best he moved on, albeit based on hersey primarily not for on-ice reasons, I’ll always be a Latta fan!   I hope he continues to get his shit together and gets another shot

This is just old school badass

Alzer with his second fight recently. . .about all he did well was not die.

Ritchie is tough, so props to Karl for standing up and not backing down.

Ritchie’s hit was NASTY!!  I don’t care what Bettman says, or if your “playing the puck”, turn you back when someone’s coming your fair game!

You’re right players shouldn’t turn their back, but that hit was late and could’ve/should’ve been avoided.

Props to Alzheimer’s for standing up to Ritchie.  How come we never saw that effort in DC?
