I've been going to the store more days than not and I love it.  There is almost no one there, there are no lines, and the shelves are ALWAYS stocked full, even with TP and paper towels.
So far our liquor stores are hanging in there. . . Good thing social distancing is keepin people away from Hopslam😈

I think those coronavirus numbers are going to go up very quickly. And this is only the beginning. It seems there are around 25000 new cases per day in the US. The numbers would be even worse if no precautions had been taken. Who knows how long this will last?
It took China about 4 months to somewhat get this virus under control. I could see it taking a bit longer here because of our lifestyle. And experts are predicting a 2nd wave of this virus. We might be dealing with this for a long time.

Bet you a dollar we cure it on Nov 4.

Agreed. Shopping has been alot easier and less stressful. So has the morning drive to work. I'd guess one tenth the normal traffic.
So far the wife and I have been lucky enough to continue working.

Amen about that traffic.

My install guys get 25% more work time due to about a 2 hour drop in travel/traffic time every day.

if governor blackface shut the liquor stores down he'd truely have a revolt on his hands, I suspect it's the only thing keeping some people sane

I’ve drank more in the last three weeks than in the last six months, and since the ranges are closed there’s no reason to stop with that...

You should see Baltimore! I’ve been walking through to our club to get Lady and I lunch each day, (to give em business and all).

The other day, half way way to the club (mind you this smack dab in the middle of downtown by the courthouse), there was no cars and no other pedestrian for about two blocks, then  I realized what I was unintentionally wearing: black sportcoat, black shoes, black t-shirt, black fedora, and black Oakleys, (those who hang out with me are not surprised when I wear upwards of 75% black).

Sos I realized that I must like protagonist in apocalyptic movie, or in a Johny Cash video .   Sos I’ve continued to wear this color scheme each day in hopes I will freak someone, or a junkie, out. . . either way I find it funny so thats what’s important

no...

I'm very annoyed actually. Are they going shut down the world next winter too? Because now that the coronavirus is in the environment it's going to hit every year, just like the flu, and the best way to get a population exposed to a new virus so they might develope a resistance to it is obviously by hiding from said virus  ::)

I need another drink

Are you saying that you would welcome being infected by this disease? Do you think you would be able to fight it off? And if you did wouldn't you be concerned about infecting your loves?
The last question is what I am concerned about.

I'm not sure how the government should be handling this. The world can't be shut down forever.
I did make a very unpopular comment to all my coworkers. I said that if they wanted this to end quickly then infect everyone.

If I had meant that I would have said that, what is the fascination some people have with putting words in other people's mouths.

I am a realist. I know what the government can control and what it can't. despite what liberals tell you, the government can't control a virus that has gone world wide before being properly identified.

Rather than answer a question with a question, how about actually answering it.

To be honest, if you don't want to "get it" you better be prepared to be locked down till there's a vaccine.. This distancing is "slowing" the spread, not stopping it.  It's far too contagious to be "stopped".. Need to balance when the fear of going bankrupt (and living free) overrides the fear of getting sick. For a lot of people, that balance is starting to tilt toward just risking the sick and getting it over with. 2 weeks sounded reasonable.. 2 months? Then what, 4 months? 6? A year? Longer?? Gotta return to living and let it run it's course at some point..

I agree that this virus can't be controlled. I think they are just prolonging the inevitable.
I am on the fence about how it is being controlled by our government.
But I am getting concerned about this virus. The numbers are going up so quickly and the numbers they are forecasting is a bit scary. And guaranteed there are are a lot more people infected that they know about.
And for record I'm from Canada so I'm not going to get into an American politics debate. I'm following what the Trump administration is doing. I don't care what the opposition says.

Well when I asked if anyone was taking this virus serious. Your answer was no.
Did I misinterpret the meaning of no?

The same people that are at risk of serious complications with the flu are the same people that are at serious risk with the wuhan flu. In all aspects this appears to be just another strain of flu.

Multi millions have likely had it and not known it, multi millions have had it and shown no more symptoms than a common cold, multi millions have had it and thought was just the regular flu. With North America suddenly being able to test multi millions for this specific virus is it any wonder there are suddenly thousands of more cases?

So far in North America the survival rate exceeds %98 with no more lasting effects than the normal flu.
So far the wuhan flu is very very slow to mutate, which means it's very easy for the general population to develop a resistance to it. The only way to do that is to be exposed, either by getting the flu or by getting a vaccine. Having a vaccine ready for the approximately 340,000,000 Americans isn't going to happen any time soon. It usually takes six months to grow half that.

the most recent numbers from Johns Hopkins(updated daily):
  Infections:
     wuhan flu:
        worldwide: 1,131,713
         U.S.: 278,458
     regular flu:
         worldwide: est. 1,000,000,000
           U.S.: 10M to 45M per year
 Deaths:
     wuhan flu:
        worldwide: 59,884*
         U.S.: 7,159
    regular flu:
        worldwide: 300,000-650,000 anually
         U.S.: 12,000-61,000 anually

* China still claims about 3500 dead in the hubei provence which we all know is a lie

based on those numbers, which one is the pandemic??? Yet if you listen to the democrat run(provable fact) press that hates the trump adminstation, we are all going to die in a couple days from the wuhan flu if we so much as stand within 2 feet of another person. This same press has been using the model for infections and deaths developed by scientist Neil Furguson. His model has been proven to be well overstated, i.e. wrong. He's already been forced to lower his death prediction in England from 500,000 to 20,000. That's a hell of an adjustment, and still very likely to be high.

A couple years ago I told my doctor why I don't get a flu vaccine, she had no response. Am I concerned about the wuhan flu? Yes, but no more that the regular flu.

and saying no is not the same as wishing for it to happen

I'm beginning to suspect something
