Oh, okay.  I think how fast or slow you see the play/hit makes a big difference...in real time I thought he was going to have a broken back!  Slow motion is good for making those calls, I suppose (at least in theory).

I thought the basic hit that caught his arm/hand was within the rules. What was not was the elbow to Kuzy's face. That's what I saw, but I have not watched it back.

For the first time in my 35+Years of  Cap fan life I almost turned the game off. The calls, non calls, the NBC bias all was too much. Mostly I lost my respect for Vegas. I thought the mantra was they are a TEAM made of grit and hustle and cast offs that came together. Tonight I saw a bunch of Divers. Fucking Neal selling that shit all the way to the bench and then on the bench. Fuck him. Fuck the guy[size=78%] guy Eller hooked. Eller barely tapped his shoulder and then pause...and then his head jerks back and he jumps to the ice. [/size]


I mean I KNOw the refs don't like the caps, especially Willy, but after the Carlson cross check call and then the shit tonight it really does look like the league is behind it AND they informed Vegas so they could ham it up

Carlson has played well this year but he has to be the dumbest fuckhead retard non-hockey sense guy I have ever seen. 4 minutes left in a game, 6 on 5 and you try a soft pass up THE MIDDLE from behind your own net?  Don't you know you are out numbered and there are TWO defenders standing there. He wasn't even under pressure and there was plenty of room to move it off the boards and you go up the middle?!  Go back and watch it Maaco. No excuse for that. You can't make an excuse for your Tokin' Norris candidate on this play. (Yes, I know how to spell token). It looked intentional it was so bad. (No I don't really think it was)

The end of that game was the longest most stressful five minutes of my life. I honestly was worried about my heart. I will never get to sleep tonight.

It's not just the apparent bias....it's almost like its Orchestrated and that's a perfect definition.
The non calls, the calls,  the video replays shown and more importantly NOT shown. The presentation of Willy's hit(s) from only the bad angle and in slow mo. The follow up of all the NBC jokers on every play or call or non call. They praise  Vegas for everything and give no credit to the caps for anything.
You know we have some great players and plays too dickwads.
Did anyone see Orpik have his stick broken in half during the 6 on 5?  They didn't even mention it. I saw a caps winger hand him their stick, but never saw how it was broken. You think the possible game tying goal might be impacted by a caps player not having a stick?  Is that worthy of mention?  It's the fuckin diving that's burning me up. Never saw any of that from Vegas before this game. Why now. It's disgusting. It's not HOCKEY, it truly makes me sick.
Vegas is a good team. Why resort to this and tarnish it? 
Caps have to overcome this and just fucking get it done.

What you described has been going on for years. I would love nothing more than seeing the Capitals beat the opponent, the refs, and the corrupt NHL front office and come away with the cup. I expect we will see even more horrendous calls. I've known for years that this is the challenge for our team. To see them pull it off in spite of all that bias would be truly one for the history books of the league, not just the Caps franchise.

Agreed!  This is effective far less than is designed or/expected (if at all), and typically ends up costing us.  If they keep this up it will certainly end up costing us big

I mentioned something similar about how the negatives about Vegas have been omitted from the fairy tale narrative that's been repeated over and over and over.

Good observation about the disconnect between the Vegas team we watch vs. glowing media descriptions of the same team.  I've been surprised, too, by cheap shots guys are taking 6 inches from a referee.  And before Game 1, I expected to feel somewhat good that the Caps were playing a good (fair) team and not a bunch of thugs who liked to instigate fights. 
Hits home the idea that it's risky to let some other group, e.g., sports writers, tell you what something is or isn't when you haven't seen it for yourself!  Go Caps!

By “team defense” and “best player” you must mean Holtby.   


Aside from maybe 4-5 players the team D is abysmal and/or atrocious (see the ‘telegraph across the middle discussion) .  I’m fact we’ll be a better defensive team without Kuzy.


They are hot and playing above their thresholds and limitations right now, but that cannot be counted on, nor adapted as the standard
