The Golden Toast has a pretty good ring to it?  Im shifting my hope to Carolina wins in Vegas, so we don't have to listen to their home crowd again.  ::)

Finally one of the goalies woke up.
Bussi with .920 save percentage last night is good.  .857 the previous game not so good but a win.  He was .947 in the game in came in down 4-0.  allowed 1 goal on 19 shots (OT winner)
Hart as not been good:  .862, .846, .879, .852, .833 is NOT a winning stat
Anderson has been worse:  .783, .885, .750.  I wonder if the death of his friend/mentor/agent Lemieux has gotten to him.

Vegas has let in 4+ goals every game of the final. That's crazy.  that has to be  record

Yes I am annoyed listening to the game and the announcers are yelling the play by play, and Ray Verraro just annoys the crap out of me.
I know the stadium is incredibly loud, but you can't tell me they dont have better mics they can use that block out the background noise better.  I think it is intentional to try and hype it up.

The NHL really needs to be more prompt in getting games started. Or, just schedule them all for 15-20 minutes later.

I watched the race this weekend as well. Toyota took the overall win, a corvette won the GT3 class.

Yay Canes

Really didn't want either of these teams winning it, but I will settle for Vegas NOT winning.  I recorded the game and started about 90 minutes late and FFWD thru every commentator and commercial, watched the game at 2x speed until about 8 minutes into 3rd period.  It was much more tolerable that way.  I really just was not into this cup final at all.  I didnt stay for all the after game award shenanigans

Just saw a report that Carlson had been negotiating a 2 year deal with the Caps at $9M per year and was now looking to stay in the east for a 2 year deal at $10M per year. That's crazy money for  him. I would have thought maybe some stupid team might give him 7 or so.  Let's just hope the Caps don't reengage.

Also, we should be hearing something from Ovi in the next week or so.....

Yes, that is crazy money for him.  With Sandin going down for extended time, I could see the Caps talking with him, but 9 or 10 is crazy.  You could get a real top tier guy in his PRIME for that kind of money (if there were any to be had).

I sure hope this is just crazy nonsense rumors like most are

Not only no, but hell no.

Carbery has one year left on his contract, management is reportedly talking about an extension.

Tortorella won’t be returning to Vegas as head coach.

Carlson has informed Anaheim he won’t resign, he wants to return to the east.

Read that Carbs and the Caps have agreed to an extension. Not sure of the details or if it's actually been signed yet though.

Torts won't be back in Vegas?? Didn't they just sign him before the playoffs started?

Carlson wanting 10m x 2 is nuts. He'd be great at around 4.5 x 2. I hope we've just moved on though and don't start entertaining dumb ass deals with old folks who aren't the GOAT.

I wonder if, with salary cap scheduled to go up significantly over the next few years, teams are suddenly going to have lots of money to spend, and UFA's are going to push for contracts even more bloated than they are already.  The Carlson rumors may be an early indication of that.  You might be AMAZED at some of the free agent deals signed this summer.

No doubt, and not in a good way.

All I’ve seen on the Carbery extension is it’s multi year. The team twit accounts have confirmed it, but zero details. Not that it really matters, teams fire coaches at will when deemed necessary.

So one mock draft I saw had the Caps taking Nickita Klepov at 16 - a 6'1" forward. Says he is US and will be playing for Michigan State.  His highlights look great. Good speed, passing, quick shot. Another mock draft didn't have him in the first round!

Then at 18 they had the Caps taking Oliver Suvanto - a 6'3" 209 lbs center from Finland. His highlights look pretty good - not a speed skater but hangs around the net and gets some rebounds. He looks a bit slow but another mock draft had him going at 10.

Then there is Oscar Hemming - who is a forward from Boston College and was projected from 14th to 17th. With our BC/BU players already, it wouldn't surprise me if they took him.

I just hope they keep both picks.  The quality of young players has really gone up and I think any first rounder could be a really good NHL player fairly quickly.
