looks like it was a good show
Knowledge is knowing that the Tomato is a fruit; Wisdom is knowing that you shouldn't include it in a Fruit Salad; Philosophy is wondering if a Bloody Mary counts as smoothie

I caught this show on tv the other day, can't for the life of me remember which channel, but I thought it was very interesting. It was also part of an hour long show, the story behind the music or some such.....

I remember listening to this in my misspent youth with a good bit of green tobacco 8)

I love Roger Waters work and Radio K.A.O.S. is a great album IMO. It's one of my favorites I listen to a few times each year. I'm listening to it right now.

Just like Peter Gabriel was the creative genius behind Genesis, Roger Waters was the the creative genius of Pink Floyd. I absolutely love the work these two people have done. Some of his work is truly genius.  He is phenomenal at capturing some of the deep challenging thoughts and struggles of the human existence and putting it to lyrics and music. Some of his works require a little effort to digest and fully appreciate. They are not all works that draw you in instantly.  No music collection would be complete without a considerable amount of his work.
Be careful what you ask for America; you just might get it.

Fuck yeah!!  Derek (legend has it “Duane,Erik = Derek”) and The Dominos is an all time classic album, if you anyone doesn’t have the Deluxe 20+ edition, they need it.  It’s my favorite Clapton material ever.

That being said, Duane takes Clapton to school on Layla!!

I was just listening to Dark Side the other day.  I don’t think will ever get the real story of why Brain Damage/Eclipse where separated into two songs.

A cover of the Pink Floyd song High Hopes performed live by Nightwish. I hope any Pink Floyd fans dont get offended but this version blows the original away. Very well done.

Another Nightwish song. This one is called Ghost Love Score. I chose this song because its an epic and when I heard this song live it was the best live vocals I have ever heard.
Interesting thing about this song is that it was written for their original vocalist who was a classic opera singer. Their second singer was more of a pop vocalist and couldn't do a lot of the material with the original vocalist including this song. However when the 2nd vocalist left the band in late 2012 in the middle of a tour along came Floor Jansen to fill in as a temporary vocalist to finish the tour. When this live video was done she was still auditioning for the position. She got the job. She has a strong presence on stage as well. She is a 6 foot tall amazon. When I met her she was my height in her boots and I'm 6'3.
Anyway she has an amazing voice. Enjoy.

I listened to enough. Had you said "I really like this version" you'd be fine, but "blows the original away"?? Nah, Pink Floyd fans wouldn't be offended by that.
