Haha.. Sounds like fun!   I had a set of vintage Slingerland (6 piece) my dad gave me. Then a bigger set of Pearls. Slowly but surely, the pawn shops ended up with both.  :-(

Very very nice Mick!
Pearl made some REALLY nice kits. Nice quality. I used to use both their hardware, and Tama hardware!
I’m sure you know that Pearts all time favorite snare, was his 14” Slingerland.
He used it all the way through his Rush career, until he switched to all DW drums!
Its the snare he used on 2112, Xanadu, Spirit of radio, Freewill, Tom Sawyer, Subdivisions, etc. he finally switched off to DW, I think around the Test for Echo album!

Although I also have DW drums, I prefer the sound of his famous Tama kits, with the Slingerland snare, and of course ALL Avedis Zildjian cymbals!

Damn, now I’m all revved up to go practice!🥁🎵

Yea, I made a snare out of the 14" Slingerland tom tom.. It was BAD.ASS. IIRC it was 9" deep. It was the deepest, best sounding snare drum in Northern Va.  :P

WOW!!
That’s creative!
9” depth. 👍
Bet you had NO PROBLEM gettin that bad boy to easily cut through the mustard!!😁

Ya know that gives me an idea, Mick! I’ve got a couple of used snare heads laying around,  and a 14 inch floor Tom!!  Now it’s probably 13-14” inches  DEEP, as well!
Oh yeah! I’m gonna slap two heads on that bad boy, and get one of those rim mounted snare wire kits!
Hell I wanna see what kind of experimental sound I can get out of it!  I need to break the monotony anyway. It will probably be more like marching formation in the George Washington days. LOL
 I’ll keep you posted !👍

This and The Carter Families “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” have to be considered amoung the greatest and iconic country songs
And this is one of the most iconic performances of it

As is this!

I would’ve loved to get to know her back then, before she got arrested a couple times for coke, and not the kind you drink...

I’ve already told Lady and Puck this, and need to verify my will, but this (after Man In Black and My Way) is the song that’s gonna close out my funeral. . . Heh if I ever die 😎

Don’t know how I missed this one, Mick!
Anyway, HELL YEAH,  T A still has it!
At 69 years old, I could not get over how quick and accurate he was. Especially his cymbal control and touch!  That was awesome!
Thanks

I want a viking funeral, though because of the EPA and the likelyhood of an incomplete burn, the boat would have my ashes on it, and bagpipes, just to annoy an ex

Now, I own EVERYTHING Trent (aka Nine Inch Nails) ever recorded (I’m pretty sure anyway),  as Trent himself said “it (Hurt), is his (Cash’s) song now”.  And he is damn right!!

We saw Trent twice a few years ago, once on his own tour at The Booth (the best visual show ever), once at “Nissan” with Soundgarden, she wanted him to play Hurt, and I told her “No, thats Cash’s song now”.   Heh he only played it at Nissan so we’re even 🤣
