It'll take a while for sure. Shouldn't be able to recognize anyone or anything from that team next year. Maybe 3 or 4 players, that's about it.

The team was off yesterday because of the 3 day break. After practice today coach said OV and Willy should be fine on Thursday, I didn’t see anything mentioned about Sandin. Coach also said Lindy and Oshie should be ready this week.

As far as the Skins go, their best record under Danny Boy was his first year of ownership when he still had a lot of personnel left over from the Cooke ownership. I expected the same effect this time. Next season will be year two of the new owners, I expect an improvement.

Think the butt end of a stick got him after a check. At the time I thought it was a glove/hand, when the guy spun around, but they said later it was a stick.

Ovi banged legs with someone after a O zone faceoff. Looked like his knee did some weird shit, but he played on. Been nursing it (whatever "it" is) in practice since. Hopefully he's good to go.

Willy got his nose broke, is/should be, good to go. Oshie is back from going home to recover. Chucky is back. Milano skating in no contact sweater. Not sure about Sandin? He's been sick. Since he isn't listed on the lines, I guess he still is? Seems like a long time for an athlete. They usually recover from illness in a few days, max?  :huh:


Not sure why Carbs didn't just put Phillips in as a filler and let Pierre split time as 2c with Suzy. Dude needs more smelling salts (ie: cocaine) apparently.


Also read that Carbs was critical of Bears play. Said he's struggled the last 2 games.

Yea, I saw it. He looked a mess. lol They said he had it "reset" and was dealing with facial pain last night. Hopefully he's able to go tomorrow.  :cross:

A broken nose can suck bad. The increased blood flow from exercising can make it hurt worse, as can the necessary heavy breathing that goes with exercising.

Saturday I got my normal thing. I will put up the GDT early but likely won’t have time for updates until after the game is over.

I'm rapidly moving to the point that we need to start tanking.  This team is so old and slow, there is not a one in a zillion chance for a cup - even if we squeak into the playoffs then get some great goaltending.


I also think it is becoming clear that the level of young talent in the league is going to explode in the next few years.  There are so many young guys that can fly and have high skill levels.  Those kids in the World Juniors were really, really good.  I think that the kid that you will be able to get in the second round next year and beyond, is as good as a mid first round pick from a couple years ago.  Draft picks are going to be critical.


So I hate to do it, but I'm now on the tank-train and hoping we get another top 10 pick and can pick up some extra picks at the deadline.
