The last time Strome and Milano were on the same line I thought they played well, but Strome also plays well with OV.

Strome is fine. Mantha on the other hand at 5.7m oof.. Eller I could take or leave. He just makes too much money when you already have 17m tied up in your top 2 centers. (Note: I could take or leave just about any of our centers at this given time)

Hey the Caps could claim him and claimed off waivers only half to pay HALF his salary 


I know a lot of people (well okay...MICK) didn't like this trade, but Vrana was overdue for the boot IMO.


FWIW - I looked up Panik and he's played all of 4 games this year for the Isles.  We gave up picks NOT to get Mantha but rather to unload Panik's contract


And yes Mick...Mantha is overpaid at 5.70, but I'd take Mantha over Vrana at $5.25...especially WITH a PANIK at another 2.75m.


Sucks to see Vrana in this position - what is he all of 27?

Vrana is in his second season with Detroit and has played less than 40 games since being traded. Last season he had shoulder surgery, this year it was whatever the issue he had/has that put him in the player assistance program. He has the talent for the NHL, there is something else wrong with him.

Does it have to be either or? Mantha is overpaid, period. Hopefully they find someone to take his contract when everyone is healthy. Cause if they start moving (losing) guys like Snively, Milano, Sheary, etc. and keep these dead weight contacts, we're fucked even worse. Panik isn't even in the league anymore, is he?  I never really had a problem with him, either..

Canada beats Czechia in OT for gold, Czech gets silver

When OV scores one goal more to make it 30 on the season, he will tie former Cap Mike Gartner for the NHL record of most 30 goal seasons at 17. I fully expect OV to get 18 next year.
