What is this "Pepperidge Farm" that you refer to?
Mr Pretentious played a decent game but its too little too late for me. He shot himself in the foot his very first game with us. Good riddance to him.
Not sure about Protas. Also can't quite get over the name. Don't know why....
Really, really liking young Milano. Hope he sticks around.
Also been happy with Mojo. He's matured so much.
I think it's finally time to cut the cord on Dylan
Come now Lil....we went over this already. Milano is Pepperidge Farm - they make a cookie called Milano. Sorry....a biscuit to you
How about just call him Kubel and he won't seem so pretentious? I actually think he's a decent addition. Good wheels and he HITS people and he's not scored much, but he's been around the net. I think the 3-gamer to the face can happen to anyone (just ask Willy...and Ovie...). Open ice hits are fast and tough when you get a shoulder in someone's mush....especially your first game with a team. He definitely left an impression (of his shoulder in the dude's face)
Protus I like for size & speed as well, and he had a phenomenal camp which earned his spot, but he's young yet, so no doubt he will be first to go down and visit Mr McMichael's club.
Milano (Pepperidge Farm) has played really well with the time he's had. Not sure why he could not make Calgary (or whoever) on the tryout. He's got pretty decent hands and a good reach and skates well. I think he will get fucked when Willy and Backy return...although if Protas is 1st out, then maybe we can hang onto Milano until Hags returns (if ever). At $750k, he's the least expensive player on the roster (along with Irwin). Milano was a first round pick in 2014...can't figure how he was not on a squad somewhere. Not that 1st round really equates to success, but a little young (26) for teams to just totally pass on him.
Mojo - has been far better than expected this year. Although I liked the pick up when we grabbed him for the cost compared to his value and ability to play anywhere. I remember a lot of negative on these boards when the Caps picked him up, but he was cheap and a utility guy which we needed at the time.
This year...I think is probably his best in several years. He already has 9g, 8a this season, and last year had 9g and 20a (in 69g) with WSH/SEAI think the time to cut the cord on Dylan was about 4 years ago. He's a very good offensive defensemen who plays a hell of a lot and fills many roles on this team, but for $8m, I'll take Gusty for $800k and pick up two more real Defensemen for $3.5m each and still be ahead. Or better yet - let Fever and Alexeyev & Gusty fill those roles and keep the $6m in change
I don't know how many teams would want 32 year old Carlson for $8m in today's cap structure.
