meh, as long as they are in the playoff picture I’m not overly concerned, every team has ups and downs during the season. The trick is to have more ups than downs.
Yeah, way too premature to give it too much thought, but....
I'd rather Caps come in 3rd than one of the Wildcard spots. Much rather play Shitsburgh than Florida, and Carolina is the last team I want to face...they just way to stingy allowing goals and I think they have a good playoff type team. They are all good teams and you have to beat them to advance, but Carolina is not my first pick to match up against....They WORK way too hard compared to the Caps.
Not that it will matter much if the Caps don't right the ship AND get some improvement in their special teams and consistency in goal tending...and some secondary scoring, and....on and on... Special teams matter less in the playoffs so maybe that will be less detrimental to the Caps, but it'd be nice to at least be a PP threat to help prevent teams taking liberties with your soft team.
Caps always seem to have a lull mid-season, just hope it doesn't get worse after All-star break (when it usually hits).
On another note....anyone know the status/prognosis on Big Tony Ray Ray? It's been almost three months since shoulder Surgery (Nov 5). How long after shoulder surgery till you start skating?
