I still don't know why they keep getting linked to Fleury.. Or the center from Seattle. Are they gonna move Eller or Nicky? That's the only way a 2 mil/30 year old center makes sense. Even then it doesn't really make sense. They need to get younger, not older. And they'll probably lose a young goal tender in the process..

this time of year every single team will make phone calls to every single other team, %96.843 of the time the call leads to nothing. Recently I’ve read that Fleury has zero interest in coming to D.C. Would he help the current goalie situation? Most likely. But the Caps have zero cap room to play with unless they move a big contract. Of the big contracts on the team, I don’t see management having the gonads to move any of them. This team painted itself into a corner before the cap freeze. Now they are really screwed.

Boston 64 pts   51 GP

Detroit  52 pts   52 GP


If Columbus plays at .600 and Caps at .500 rest of the way....Columbus 92 pts, Caps 94 pts.  IF Caps continue at current .450 %...they end the season with 91 pts.

I doubt it happens, but it's much more realistic than it was a week ago.  (Happens when one teams wins ALL its games and the other does not)

Caps have won only 8 of their last 20 games, two of those wins in OT, (plus two OT/SO losses)  which is playing at .450 %  (calculated at 45% of total possible points)

yea, but I kind of expected last night to go the way it did. This group historically shits the bed the first game back after a long break, and expecting Osh to be a game changer in his first game back is unrealistic as well. It’s going to take him a couple of games to back to game speed. When Mantha finally comes back it will take him a week to get up to speed.

It's all about the safety!! Especially when it's the golden boy spinning out!!    Racing was pretty good in the new car. They just need to figure out that flat tire, stranded shit.. Some kind of inner liner needs to be engineered so that can make their way back to the pits. Even with 18" wheels and low profile tires, there has to be a way..

I agree with going younger but I think they really should go big at the deadline.  Not sure of a particular deal but Mantha ain't gonna turn this around.  One more year on old bodies ain't gonna improve our cup chances.....  If they are going to keep the old men around you are going to have to sacrifice more of the future now....

Whilst the Caps have been shitting the bed, everyone else is winning.  Boston has won 5 in a row, Carolina 5 in a row, Shitsburgh won its last two


Caps now cemented in the LAST WC spot as expected.  Columbus 10 points back with 2 games in hand.  27 and 29 games left to play.  If Columbus plays at .600 rest of the way, they could catch the Caps if the Caps play at .450 rest of the way.


Ho hum....it would be more fun to be able to talk about how the Caps have been righting the ship and how we so and so has been picking up his game, but.....NOOOOOO.  Instead it's more of the same collapse.
Goal tending is killing them. 


other than Sheary being a hussle hound on the puck and Hathy on fire of late....okay and give the Snively kid some props for his 4 goals....  Other than those guys, I don't see anyone really shining.

Man, sounds bad for Hags.. Not really that fond of his play this year, but never wish possibly career ending injury on anyone. Hope he recovers fully!! And, the glass Caps make a return as soon as Mantha is due back.. These weekly upper body injuries, that last for weeks, are getting stupid.
