What a bunch of fucking horseshit. Pretty mad at OV too for putting 11 shots on net and not a single fucking goal. He wasted those grade A chances. He's the only guy with the talent to score big goals consistently and we need him to fucking carry the team on his back sometimes. There's 0 reason he should have ruined that open net chance in the 3rd.

At the rest disadvantage, losing Kempny in the middle of the game, they rained 60 shots on Tampa.  Yeah, they still lost, but it was a hell of an effort.

I'm complaining. About the atrocious overpaid defense.

They lost AND gave up 5 goals, THERE ARE NO EXCUSES FOR THAT AND THERES NO EFFORT IN ALLOWING 5 GOALS!!!   Down a D? So what, man up and play extra minutes and play them harder than you normally would and not allow 5 goals instead of crying about it.

But this loss is on Reidon.  He simply could not come up with a plan, or have the players execute the game plan to beat them, instead treated it like any other game.  THAT is what lead to the shit show tonight, not Kempey getting tossed around like a rag doll.

Gotta admit, Tampa is awesome in the offensive zone. After the first period I thought they were lucky with the way they kept the puck in the zone. By the end of the game I had to admit they were really. really good.


We can beat them in the playoffs if we play a really heavy game and Holtby is on fire.

It's hard to try and shut him up when the bad calls were so egregious.  May even said he thought one of the TBL would get a fine by the league for the dive when Ovie barely brushed his head and he fell to the ice grabbing his head like he was hit with a baseball bat. i would love to see that happen.

I have to admit, it is tempting to rag on the refs, but I'm getting tired of it. 


The other thing I am tired of is our PP.  If we had a PP coach that had a brain, he would scrap the slingshot and vary our passing around the horn routine.  The whole world knows our setup simply has one focus - to get Ovi the puck.  Watch Pittsburgh and Tampa with crisp passing across the ice and its tic-tac- goal.  Our PP coach HAS to adjust before the playoffs.

Props to him for having the fucking balls to actually fight. He knows he sucks at fighting, but none of the other fucks on our team are going to even bother.

I thought we played well. We made a few mistakes and at times we seemed incapable of passing a puck or clearing a puck, but the defense held a powerful offense to 4 goals in regulation and three of those goals were after penalties only one of which MIGHT have been a reasonable call. The other two were not even questionable; they were brutally wrong. We outplayed them in many ways and if not for the poor calls I say we'd have won.

Like Alan May you have to call out the refs when they blow it, and tonight they blew it.

Pardon my French, but this is baloney.  The Caps came out (how much was Reirden, how much was the players putting their nose to the grindstone I can't say, of course) with a plan that was fundamentally different from what they traditionally do.  Their (reported) hitting was more than it's been in virtually all games this year.  They put basically a shot a minute on goal.  That IS more than they've done all season and probably top 10 in their history, and contrary to their philosophy of setting up to get the best possible shot at the expense.  They came out with gusto against a team that has been on fire all year, when they were in the back half of a back-to-back and Tampa wasn't.  To say that this team gave "no effort" in allowing 5 goals is NONSENSE!!!  Pure and utter NONSENSE!!!  There's no crying in hockey.  The team DID man up and the top 3 D all played extra minutes, with Kempny out and Orpik/Jensen not playin all that much.  Where's your evidence of crying???  Sometimes the result isn't what you want, but stop ragging on these guys for no rational reason.  They showed grit in keeping at it until the end, tied it in the last minute, and lost in the OT, which doesn't mean anything for the playoffs anyway because you don't see 3-3 then.  Please quit trying to shoehorn what actually happened on the ice into your distorted view of reality.
