Yes! I said a few minutes earlier that I will happily stay up late to watch the recorded broadcast and listen for the muted/subdued less-than-impressed reaction from the announcers that I fully expect to hear.
You guys will be disappointed. I just rewatched it on the NBC feed on Gamecenter since you have all access to replays etc with that stuff. After the goalie got scored Pierre didn't speak, at all. Doc was trying to call what happened, Milbury piped up a few times and blankly and plainly called the breakaway and Letang for the mistake. I say again, Pierre never spoke, Doc kept going silent to try to prompt him, nothing. He didn't even call the replay on the goal.
Then instead of cutting to an interview with a player following the game, the on ice crew cut to the other game. On CBC they were interviewing Ovechkin, because of course one of the games biggest stars getting over that hump in such dramatic fashion is worthy of post game content. On NBC? Nah. The bias is so real at this point it's mind numbing. Disgusting. Especially since the team they are being biased for has back to back Cups previous and another one in their tank before that. Plus the times they had Mario and Jagr. That franchise has zero reason to be anything but humble in defeat considering everything they've done.
But yeah, it's pretty silly to hear their very muted reaction.
