I’m afraid you are going to have to wait for that to come back around. If it ever does. Having several defensive physical Dmen has gone the way of the enforcer. It’s all about speed and transition these days and it wins (see Pittsburgh Penguins). Until a team wins it all with brute force nothing will change.
Actually it already is. The Hens went and got one of the best enforcers oil the game to add to there Defense,. . . (who at 6'7" isn't fast). . . and Boston has one in Krug and the other 5-6 are Defensive Dman or 200ft with a focus on D first players, . . . Tampa only has one in Stalman with 3-4 HOF caliber shutdown D, . . Vegas has Miller and even Schmittys, turned into a 200ft/sutdown first Dman.
This trend puck moving/transition fad were still trying to catch u, to is about three years old, and teams are starting to move away from it.. . most importantly the teams we are trying to catch are moving away from it. The longer we praise and convert the likes of Carlson, Bowerey, Djoos, Orlov JJ25. . . . the teams that don't are gonna stay ahead of us and continue to beat us.
