I'll have to watch that video. I saw a report Mark Martin posted on the crash. Reading it, it's still unclear (to me) what happened? Other than 1 engine was hard to start, then wasn't making as much power as the other. And the instruments weren't working right. Audio breaks up so they couldn't hear what the major concern was. Biffle told the pilot to climb higher, before they had official clearance. May of given them enough speed to make it back, if he'd done so? Speculation hard starting engines might of drained battery's to where the instruments were not working properly?

You ever watch SMX (Super Motocross)? I tape them and watch later. Round 1 Malcom Stewart had a bad crash. Dislocated shoulder, broken collar bone, hurt ribs. He was back a week later and finished 10th. Hockey and SMX are the 2 toughest sports imo. Those dudes are nuts. Always getting compound fractures and shit on their forearms, hands, etc. It's brutal.

That was more entertaining than expected.

You are allowed to eat now and then.  Caps had pretty decent PP, but didnt score.  Carlson watched at Philthy dangled around in the zone and scored.

Mick was just about to back you up, when he noticed you finally got to work. Albeit late, you still showed up!  :snicker:

Clash is today! 40* and cloudy forecast. Starts at 1:30 on FS2 (i think) then moves to FOX.

Good news - we did not get Panarin. He went to the Kings who extended him 2 years. Looked like the return was a lot less than they were asking for.

The Caps now have a 30% chance of making the playoffs. We have played 58 games which is more than anybody else.  We could actually move to the bottom of the Metropolitan fairly easily as other teams make up the games.  Could be a top 10 draft pick in our future!

Think they had a practice and single lap qualifying. It wasn't on anything but the Fox app, so I didn't see it. Race was a clown show. Started at 4:30 with the LCQ (75 laps), then around 6:30 the 200 lap race. It was filled with spins, crashes, rain, sleet, etc.. lol Think it finally ended around 9:45pm.

It’s being reported that the Rags wanted Leonard as part of the trade. Caps management said no, thankfully.

They wanted Leonard.   That could of been a shot to both feet. Who knows when Panarin will start to fall off, plus he's our only top 6 prospect. Glad they didn't entertain that nonsense. Still need a playmaker and goal scorer though. Doubt they'll get it. C.Patrick doesn't seem to be very proactive. Unfortunately drafting doesn't seem to do much either, unless you get a top 3 pick, which we never do now that they're allergic to rebuilds. I wouldn't mind giving up some picks/prospects (not named Leonard) but can't be doing it for dude's in their 30's.. Need to find another Oshie type deal. lol

Caps say Dubois is playing tonight.  Hmm thought they were waiting till after, but if he's ready, why wait.
Also this is the Caps 59th game - the only team in the NHL that will have played 59 games before the break....which leaves them less room to make up any ground after the break
I really wouldn't mind seeing the Caps trade off some dead weight.  I don't want a big blockbuster deal for a big name player (like Panarin) that just wouldn't be enough to make us a contender, but would rather get picks for some of the chaff we need to thresh from this squad.
I am dreading the announcement of the Caps resigning John Carlson to a new multiyear deal.
Carlson, TVR, Frank, Duhaime, Milano, Ovi are all UFA's at seasons end.  I would be okay with NONE of them on the roster next year.  I don't want Carlson, TVR, Milano, could live with Duhaime and Frank at a bargain figure....Ovi I let play another year just cuz.
McMike and Lappy are RFA's.  I really really really wanted both of them to be better this year.  Both are trade bait for me, but I'd be okay with McMike back for the right number.  If we could get him some help he MIGHT score 25 goals again.

This is why getting DuBois back is so important, IF he can get back to playing with anything like the effectiveness he played with last season.  Carbery said he will initially slot between Protas and Wilson tonight.  Not only is that a HUGE, imposing line, it is defensively responsible - one that can match up against any line in the league, even the ones with the most talented payers, and make life miserable for them.  And then, if McMichael can return from his injury, the lines suddenly make sense:  Ovie/Strome/Sourdif; Protas/DuBois/Wilson; Beauvillier/McMichael/Leonard; and Duhaime/Dowd/Frank or Milano.   No more forcing Dowd up the lineup.  Lapierre and his negligible effect to the bench.  McMichael in a spot where he isn't forced to go up against top players consistently.  Leonard gets a consistent feeding center who can maybe help him grow his scoring game.  Sourdif maybe with a chance to get even more quality chances, playing opposite the guy who draws all the attention.

The Caps have officially activated Dubois and Thompson for tonight. Bjorklund has been sent back to Hershey. According to my math, one more move needs to be made. Milano is being listed as injured, but not on IR just yet.

Just checked the Hershey web site, and Trineyev is listed there so he’s been sent down as well.

Last night Milano was listed as out for personal reasons. If not seen any other information on that.
