Wilson and Thompson are our only "game changing" weapons.

Shocking news to all I know, but the Caps really don't have that much talent that other teams have to be concerned with.
Short of Wilson and Chychrun....what big talent do we have that another team would fear....or have to worry about?  Protus maybe if he gets fully back on track, and his size makes him a challenge to contain
Thompson certainly is a factor, and will surely steal a game now and then (as long as its not in the shootout)
If you are the opposing team what are you seeing in your scouting and film review of the Caps that worries you?  Ovi still has that shot now and then, but he's as much a liability as a scoring threat most of the time he's on the ice.
We have exactly one player with 20+ goals Wilson (22)
Protas (16), Ovi (15), Chychrun (15), Strome (10) are next, with nobody else on even a 20 goal/year pace.

Leonard and Sourdif are looking good for the near future.

Wowza!  Back to the old days. Looked like Erskin thowing em!

I can't stand normal fighting now. Grab a shoulder and lean back and turn circles. It is just a sham!  I say change the rules so that if guys get into a fight and do the circle dance, then they get an extra 10 minute misconduct for wasting all our time.

They were definitely throwing em...not sure if any of those really connected till the end, but that's a win for Oliver for sure.

Didn't even know Reaves was still in the league TBH.

Protas was put on IR today, Brett Leason called up. Willy will not play tonight.

Yea, we don't win many games w/both those guys out. Be nice to float around .500 until they're healthy, but doubtful.

Wilson unlikely for tomorrow in Chicago, Protas is a possibility.

This morning in practice Sourdif got a pretty good hit to the face, left early to stop the nose bleed. No update yet. Chychrun also let practice early, no word on why.

I think Protas only has to miss one more game.

I thought Chicky had a subpar game last night - doesn't happen very often.

I just don't get Lappy.  He seems to be skating really well and I think has dramatically improved his skating.  He is also stickhandling well and makes pretty good passes. It just seems that he somehow is a zero offensive threat. He is not getting much icetime now, but they haven't scratched him much or at all.  Weird.

Have to think Lappi is getting a sweater (when they're healthy) to make him more appealable in a trade package? Plus his line mates are not all that most nights. If he played between Pro and Wilson, I think he'd have more success.

Yes Lappy has improved most every part of his game....except that part where he actually scores.  Certainly would help if he got to run with some other scorers, but I think he's basically getting a sweater now because we have guys out.  Wilson, Protas and Dubuois all get healthy and Lappy is in trouble.  Either he or Milano will have to clear waivers to bring back Dubuois.
Sordiff has certainly helped his own cause, so he's staying for sure.  Unless Caps doing something with a D man, then one of those two (Lappy/Milano) will have to go.  Which one has more trade value?  I would think Lappy because of his age, but i dunno.  Losing guys on the waiver wire sucks cause you get nothing for them.

I'd probably keep Milano over Lappi, tbh.. He's inconsistent like most of them, but you can see he's got a little "it" factor every now and then. Both of them get pushed over by a feather, but he has some good moments along the boards every now and then. Never really notice Lappi doing anything. He shows up with an assist or something, but as far as making a play against a defender, I just don't see/recall much of anything. I do have CRS though, so who knows..

Wilson skated in a no contact sweater this morning, Protas appeared to have a normal practice. Still waiting to see if Leason gets sent back to Hershey.

Bedard is supposed to play for Chicago tonight after missing 12 games to injury.

On Lappy vs Milano, I think they keep Lappy. They have a first round draft pick invested in him and won't want to admit defeat. Milano can show some scoring ability every now and then, but he is very inconsistent.   I had really hoped that Lappy would blossom this year like McMike did last year, but it is just not happening.  I think his future is to get traded to a lousy team and become an average player for them.
