Need to look and see if there's anyone in the race I recognize this year. Think I heard AJ Allmendinger is in it?

Just thinking ahead to the trade deadline - which I hope the Caps are smart enough to not be buyers.   I think the value of draft picks has gone way up in the last few years. The talent is being fully developed at a younger age and we are seeing more and more 18/19 year olds that can really play.  Therefore, I think that teams will be lucky to get a second round pick for a really good veteran rental player.

The downside of this is that if the Caps are sellers, they won't get much - maybe a third rounder for a guy or two - so we should just sit it out and try and go with our existing prospects.

Dubois participated in the team practice today, without a blue jersey

The roval will not be missed. Still only one race at Richmond, in the middle of august. Genius.

They're supposed to run the Clash this weekend at Bowman Gray. (Winston-Salem, NC) not too optimistic that's gonna happen.

They've made a few decent moves this offseason. 10 races to determine the champion, increased HP (slightly) and got rid of the roval.. Still wish it was full schedule champion, 900+ HP though, but at least they moved the needle a little in the right direction.

They have done away with the "throwback" race at Darlington, which seems stupid. Even though it's played out and teams are now "throwing back" to cars that only ran like 10 years ago, it was still fun to see the nostalgia paint jobs. Think some teams will still do it, but nascar said they won't encourage it or some shit.

Did I mention they want to run at Bowman Gray this weekend? lol Bring that shit back home to Daytona, where it belongs! (It's gonna be 30-50* this weekend in Daytona. I can only imagine upstate NC.)

Thompson is listed as day to day, speculation is it’s related to puck he took the head last game. Clay Stevenson has been called up from Hershey.

These rumors that the Caps are in play on Panerin are just plain nuts.  The last thing the Caps need is a 34 year old big money player on the decline.  There is no way Panerin would agree to waive his no- trade to the Caps anyway as he will want to go to a team that has a shot at a Cup.

Yea, were 8 pts out of a wildcard spot now. Tied with 4 teams, trailing 3 more, all with at least 1 game in hand on us, some with 2.

The season's over, we have zero reason to buy anything..

Yeah, No Fn way - wouldn't make sense for anybody.  I was never all that impressed with Panarin.  Big Willy could use him for medicine ball workouts though - ragdoll his ass around  :snicker:

This team needs a couple quality centers and 3 or 4 good defensemen. The winger problem should go away with a good center.

When was the traditional spring race at Martinsville? Late March/ early April? Seemed like they had snow every couple years.

Late April.  I still haven't seen what/when they're gonna do Sunday. I did hear if THAT gets postponed, they'll run Monday, Tues., etc.

The Panarin trade rumors to the Caps seem to be heating up. Rumor is Lappy, Milano, a first round, a second round and a prospect. Then the Caps sign him for 4 years at $11 million.

I would hate a trade like this. Not so much giving up Lappy and Milano and the  prospect but giving a 1st is terrible and worst of all is 4 years at $11M to a 34 year old!  We need to get younger!

Certainly hope this is nothing but rumor.  I don't see Panarin helping us, and no not worth giving up a 1st, 2nd, prospect, Lappy & Milano - that's CRAZY

That'd be so Washington DC sports to spend all kinds of future for a 34 year old.  :clown: :poop: We need to get younger and rebuild properly.

*Fl. gave up a conditional 2nd for Marchand. Boston retained 50% of his salary.

Hopefully Panarin doesn't even want to come to this clown show.
