The local news this morning say Jayden x rays were negative on the elbow. He’s scheduled for an MRI today to check ligament damage.

Either way, hopefully he's shut down till next year. Bro's arm bent at the elbow, the wrong way.  8-0 We knew he was too small framed for the NFL, but he still insists on trying for the "extra yard" when he carries the ball. He'll either learn to give himself up, or retire by the age of 26

Dubois out indeterminately will miss "an extended period of time" reported today.  Don't know yet if he will require surgery.
Sounds like torn knee to me, but that's a guess.

Sandin back in full sweater today.

Dubois being out is gonna hurt more than most people think.  I know he doesn't score as much as we'd like, but he was basically our shut down guy for opponent's top line.
This article shows some of that - some pretty impressive stats I didn't realize, but not just missing someone who scores, but really his defensive role is going to be sorely missed.

Yep, I've been saying it in GDT's. We don't have the depth to lose ANYONE in the top 6. Especially not Centers. But there's 4 or 5 guys on the team we can't do without. Strome, Dubois, Wilson, Chychrun, Protus. Any of those guys go down for more than a game or two, it'll kill us. Our GM has set us up for failure this season by once again ignoring our lack of talent.

Caps really needed to take both those last two games.  Four losses in a row hurts, but damn, we got St Louis (who is struggling) next, but then its a steady diet of serious teams...
Shittsburgh, Tampa, Carolina, Florida, NJD.
Tampa and Florida are underperforming so far, but they always tough match ups for us.  We beat Tampa earlier in the year at home.
Shittsburgh is night 2 of back to back and in Shittsburgh (fucked again with this years scheduling)

Mick Hens game is on ESPN+ Hulu....better start looking for a thread

Fn back to back with travel to play Shittsburgh with the Hens having last night off is just BS.  The NHL did this to us last year also.  Caps play two sets back to back in a row with 3 days off between - makes no sense.  I get it they have to schedule the arena and such but last week was Fri/Sat - that seems like the toughest to schedule.  You telling me neither team/arena was available Monday?

I agree.  Its a big matchup game that I would think lots of NHL fans might want to watch, but you make it hard to access for a large portion of folks.

(my son has Hulu so I will be watching, but I wouldn't buy Hulu to watch a handful of games a year)

I steal every game stream now, regardless what channel it's on. Fuck em'
They've made it more of a pain in the ass to get the stream started (lots of closing spam windows, reloading, trying to beat the disappearing icons to go full screen, etc) but once your have the stream loaded it's usually good to go the whole game. And it's still better than getting screwed by Hulu or Monumental or YoutubeTV or... Fuck em' all! lol

Okay so I know after a loss to the Hens I'm a little saucier than normal so take this with a grain of salt, but ...
John Carlson sucks.  Lindgren sucks too.

The whole league is always saying what a great all around D man Carlson is...he logs so many minutes, he plays all situations, blah blah blah
However, Carbs (in his infinite wisdom) has recognized Carly aint all that (or no longer is), so he has cut his minutes way down.  He still plays plenty of minutes and he still gets PP time (even though he should NOT).
Carlson needs to move off the PP - his passes are not great and he has lost what ability he had to actually hit the net when he shoots.  I have watched time after time ont he PP, when he winds up and hits a slapper he MISSES the net badly.
Willy's great tip in goal the other night was a BAD Carlson shot.  I'm sure the Carly lovers will say...oh he's so smart he intentionally shot it 3' wide so he'd force Willy to spin around and make a wild swing at it going wide so when he caught the puck with the toe, it would take a 40 degree right turn and go into the net...but I aint buying.  Carlson just can't hit the net.
OH, by the way, it was Fn Carlson lolly-gaggin the puck up ice and turned it over on our PP that led to Hens SHG

Chychrun is what they say carlson is...an ALL AROUND GREAT D-MAN.  He is a great skater and puck mover, yet he does still actually play D
Both have 10 points on the season.  Both play all situations.
Chicky leads the team +/- with a +10
Carlson is 2nd worst on the team with a -2
(both were even last night)

Lindgren 1-3-1, 3.59 GAA, .878 SV%.  Those are horrendous numbers
Thompson 6-3, 1.45 GAA, .938 SV%  Thompson has allowed 13GA in 9 games.  He would have more wins if Caps scoring had not been anemic on him.
It's early to be making true comparisons on goalie stats, but damn...
I really hope we don't sign Carly to another deal.  I feel bad saying that because he has been good for this team and been here so long, but I really think his game has declined dramatically and will continue to do so. (Told you we should have hung on to that Iorio guy - fucking stupid losing him on waivers)

I didn’t see it, but early in the 2nd the radio guys said Lindy looked hurt and was clearly struggling the rest of the game. I’m curious what he looked like by the people that actually watched the game.

Dubois had surgery Friday to fix abdomen and abductor muscles, will be out 3-4 months.

From seeing the replay, I'd never guess in a million years he fucked up those muscles. But wish him a speedy recovery. Caps need all the help they can get.

Yea, based on the play I would’ve bet money it was a knee injury
