Have to see how Lappi works out centering the 3rd line. Seemed like he was doing much better on the wing and Sourdif playing C?? And yea, Milano is quickly becoming an afterthought, unfortunately.

wow that 1st line is....suspect on D responsibility.  Bet L4 gets as many minutes.  L3 will get the least ice.  L2 is gonna log A LOT of minutes.
and Milano is on the 4th D line?

Hey at least the message board is back up to speed.

Sandin was put on IR today to make room for Frank.

Only one suspect D wise on the 1 line is Ovi, imo. And that's all accounted to his lack of speed. McMike has matured and Leonard is a superstar in the making. While this team may of overachieved last year, I don't think many (me included) factored in that a bunch of them still may not have peaked? Wilson, Strome, Proti, McMike to name a few. The ones underachieving so far this year are vets like Dubois.. Dude's been invisible so far and not even missed when injured..

I'd put Bouvi on the 4th line with Duhaime and Dowd. And put Sourdif (C) up with Lappi on LW and Frank on RW. Wouldn't be surprised if we see that happen at some point.

Still surprised we let Iorio get away for nothing.  Seems very short sighted to give up a young high draft D, especially his size, to waivers.  I mean honestly, who had a better chance of making a difference or playing more games (in a Caps sweater) in the next 2-3 seasons...Iiorio or BigMac?  I like Mac, but he's at best a fill-in with a year or two left.  Iorio may not be a superstar, but he's NHL caliber and on the rise, not decline.
He's played 6 games with Sharks.  He has 0 points and is a minus 3.  But...he's on the Sharks so... (they are 2nd worst in the league at -13 goal diff)
I looked up; sharks have 9 D on roster, 7 are in the minus...Dimitri Orlov leads D with a +2, 1 other D is +1.  Not sure how they can have 9 D, 13F, 2G, but I assume their website is like ours...not perfectly maintained (1D is on IR)
Yikes i looked at Sportrac and Sharks have 12D under contract, only 3 have contracts beyond this year (2 of them only 1 more year and are 34/35 years old).  They have 6 UFA, and  3 RFA on their D squad next year

I agree, Sourdif did well at 3C as I recall (excluding last game since it was an all around shit show for everyone).
Only memorable thing I can think of in that game was Willy totally clobbering some guy with a clean open ice hit.  Hmmm...Lenny, Sourdif, Lappy, Dowd, Wilson all an even +/-.  Thats tough in a 7-1 beating.

Dallas is no easy match up, especially at home.  Boys better WTFU for tonight.

It’s barely after noon and the website that posts the zebra information already has tonight’s games up.

It’s still early in the season. It will change.

Strome and Sandin skated in non contact jerseys this morning. No update yet on Frank.

Good to know it actually is d2d with Strome. Was afraid he might miss significant time.

yes, the PP especially misses Strome.  We have hard enough time breaking into the zone with him carrying the puck, last game without him was horrendous.
could be Dallas just pressures the PP better, but I think Strome does help on the PP.  I'd give big Pro a shot at running the puck in on the PP...he never gets PP time though.
I expect Strome plays tonight, but with another back to back, maybe they hold him 1 more game.
Stupid fucking schedule; back to back, 2 days off, 1 game then 2 nights off, back to back then 3 days off, then back to back
6 out of 7 games are back to back over this stretch.  they say its cuz of the olympic break, but there's 2 or even 3 days off between most of these so thats just BS schedule making.

Sammi said Carbs did some more "tweaking" to the PP.. Not sure what that even means since they're scared to tell Carlson he's the new PP2 QB.. That's one of the weirdest non adjustments I've ever witnessed. But yea, I'd put Pro on with Wilson and just let them get a head of steam and dump the puck in and let them go get it. Trying to pass or skate it in is 75% a comedy of errors for us.

Also she said Strome didn't stay on for extra work, so "probably" is playing tonight. One thing to note, no McMike.. Not sure why, they were waiting on word.

Caps called up Spencer Smallman today. He’s listed as a right winger, 29 years old, 6’1”, 205, and never played in an NHL game. No word yet on Strome for tonight.

Oof.. Nascar's luck ran out tonight with their shitty 1 race takes all format. Feel bad for Connor Zilisch who finished the race in 3rd. (2nd in the Championship)

If they scored the season like normal, he wins the Championship by almost 400 points.  This season he had 10 wins, 20 top 5's- (18 in a row to end the season) 23 top 10's, 8 poles, 11 stage wins, Over 1000 laps led.

But Jesse Love (RCR) won the Xfinity (Busch) Championship in Phoenix. He won the 1st race of the season and the last.

Lines from practice this morning per Sammi, Dubois did not participate and Sandin is eligible to come off IR. Coach did say Dubois will be out long term ..

Ovechkin-Strome-Beauvillier
Protas-McMichael-Wilson
Milano-Smallman/Lapierre-Leonard
Duhaime-Dowd-Sourdif
Frank (non-contact)

Fehervary-Carlson
Chychrun-Roy
Sandin-TVR
Chisholm-McIlrath

Thompson
Lindgren

The organization traded D men with St Louis. To me this looks like it benefits Hershey, not so much the Caps. But we’ll see..

Denny got fucked over. Jayden Daniels broke his fucking arm/elbow in another shit show Redskins blowout. Gators should of beat Georgia but got hosed as well as choked. Then there's the shitty Capitals.. Worst sports weekend in my life!  >:(
