Looked like possible broken hip, pelvis, or femur. Minimum he will have a massive bruise.  My son and I were just talking last night about how scary dangerous that sport is.  I think it's irresponsible letting 16 year olds compete in a sport that could easily paralyze them for life on one mistake. They should at least be wearing protective gear. I got my son some very expensive equipment to protect his neck when he was riding motocross.  One important piece is a Leatt neck protector that combines with helmet and shoulder pads to prevent neck compression. IMO these young kids should be wearing them for halfpipe and slopestyle. If Yuto Totsuka had hit head first he'd likely be either dead or a quadriplegic. So many of those pro snowboarders have had extremely serious injuries, including tomato head.

yea, the Canadian kid that won silver almost died a year ago after hitting a tree, I never understood how someone could break a leg skiing, until a few years ago while in the trees at park city

You old fart, you!

Researchers at Johns Hopkins recently estimated that about 600,000 people nationally are injured each year as a result of skiing and snowboarding.

I have heard of many young snowboarders that became paralyzed. Young people think they are indestructible and it's up to the adults to protect them until they are no longer stupid. I don't think protective gear, when available, is too much to ask. My son landed on his head a couple times making huge jumps on his motorcycle. Had he not been wearing $800 worth of protective head & neck gear he would likely have been seriously hurt.

:hearts:   Kisses.  Hey  It's Valentines day here already.

 :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

Just before the game I received a dozen beautiful roses in the mail delivered by UPS.  My wife was VERY curious who had sent me roses.  I found the card in the box. It was from Chewy.com, the place I buy all my cat food.  Very odd.

what's amazing when you think about it, these parents are putting their 14-16 year old kids into what equates to college level football. These same parents would never allow that.

On the other hand, I never had, and still don't have a bicycle helmet. I destroyed my first dirt bike wearing geans and a tshirt. What eventually did me in was becoming complacent at work with something I'd done 100 times before
