I "watched" the 2009 G7 of 1st round yesterday..Caps vs Rangers. It was on NBCSN Washington at some point recently and I taped it. This was the game which Federov scored late in the 3rd to win the game 2-1 (turns out Federov's last playoff goal ever). Ovie was so excited he jumped on Federov and knocked him down to the ice against the boards. Imagine that...Caps winning a G7 playoff game.
Sadly, it wasn't the whole game live, it was most of the game, slightly abbreviated, but instead of the game's play by play, it was Joe B and Locker talking live to Matt Bradley while the game was playing. They weren't even really following the game. It was kind of distracting. I would prefer to watch one or the other, not half-ass watch both at the same time.
It was actually quite annoying - you couldn't really get into the flow of the game. They had the game on about 2/3 of the screen with live video feed of the other three stacked on the 1/3 screen from their "remote" locations.
I did not enjoy it. I was bummed because I was looking forward to watching it. This makes we wonder how exciting NHL games will be with no fans in attendance.
I hear Korean baseball is going to be broadcast live soon.
Now I DID watch and enjoy this weekend Game 6 and Game 7 of the Nats winning the World Series last year. This was such an awesome playoff run. They overcame so many little bumps in the road to accomplish this. I wish I had them all on tape. I only have Games 6 and 7.
Also, with it on DVR, you can skip past all the commercials and even FF 20 seconds between pitches and condense a 3+ hour game to about 75 minutes.
Also wish I had the Caps Stanley Cup run recorded. I had several of them, but I did NOT know that DVR's auto delete items after a certain time period
Go Caps.
Go Nats.
Go....Naps. (that's my p.c. nickname for whatever the Korean baseball league is)
