Say what you want about Wilson's retribution, but we could have really used him down the stretch in last night's game protecting the lead.


This is the fine line Wilson has to walk now.  He is SO valuable when he is on the ice that losing him for an extended period really hurts the team's chances.  I wonder if he had let up on Cole a little earlier if he could have avoided the misconduct penalty and been around for the end of regulation.  Of course, as it turned out, even if that had happened the Avs still would have scored before he left the box.

I was a little surprised the linesmen didn't jump in a little sooner.  Willie got in some really good uppercuts and the guy was taking a beating.  He was clearly trying to just turtle...these days they usually jump in to try and stop it.[/size]Good for Willie.  That's what a teammate is supposed to do.  Probably won't help his rep with the league or other fans but Willy is bolstering his position of heart and soul of this team.I'll take the trade off (especially late in a game) of him getting tossed to "do what is right" for his team.  Although, as he was being escorted off, I was worried about us finishing the game without him.

I thought the Caps looked pretty good last night and for the most part played BETTER than score indicated which is a positive turnaround.

Should have been a blowout, but we got robbed one goal, and Copely (who I thought had a decent game) did let in one softy, and I forgot about the first "lucky/bad bounce goal he let in from behind the net so maybe two softies.

Kuzy looked good.  Oshie looked good.  Ovi looked good and Nicky looked good.  Wilson damn near always looks good.  Really like what he as developed into....gives me hope the Caps could
have a future.  When our stars are on....we seem to do well.  Maybe they should try that more often...like on a regular (daily) basis.

By the way Kuzy stole Ovie's 38 goal of the season by tapping the puck as it was crossing the goal line, but better safe than sorry.

Vranna looked good.  Not sure if he got any points, but he was a factor with his speed.  Got robbed of one.

Burka scored...but I/m beyond done with him.  He handed off the puck on the boards in the O-zone (after Orlov fumbled it around for a while) and fed the puck directly into the center of the ice which directly led to Avs 2nd goal.
Nisky looks a little better as of late...I'm still wondering if/hoping he was nursing something other than just his age.

Orlov is just awful this year.

Carlson looked like he was back on the bong a couple times last night.  I know a lot of folk love him here, but meh.  He's just so frustrating sometimes.  So much better than he used to be, but still he worries me with his brain farts.

The misconduct should be a zebra option based on the situation. I know the lockerroom hasn't forgot about the three concussions the team suffered earlier in the season with zero response from DoPS. So I'm happy to see that Willy unloaded on Cole for a similar hit that had Kuzy concussed once already. I garuntee you that fight is being watched by every other team, and it will make them think twice about high hits, so losing Willy for the last 10 minutes of this game will be far more beneficial in the long run.

This why we need another elite enforcer on this team. 


When the you’re enforcer is your best all round player, including defenseman, him going off the ice is a liability.  One that can be exploited by the other team


But having him grab his ankles and say “Yes Ma’am”!to woman’s-rules hockey and let schmucks like Cole take runs on players because the rest of the team can’t fight and can hold a lead, should not even be suggested.


Having a second player will not only help the situation like last game, but would also protect Willow against the players trying to deliberately target/challenge him directly to get him off the ice.
