Glad they got outta there with the W.. Playing a 45 minute game usually don't end well..
I'd say we played a 30 minute game. Maybe less. Ottawa was the better team the last 2 periods.

Good for Lewington. I like his style. I never really thought he had enough talent to bec a regular NHL dman. Maybe I'm wrong. Problem is that we will be getting some guys back and he will get buried again.

OK, I looked it up.
It appears they choked a darkie on Bowey's cap during his post game interview.

I remember that "boot" also meant "trunk" as in of a car.  And the hood is called a bonnet.  So fill the boot could mean fill the trunk.

What did I get wrong. Here is a definition of boot and bonnet.

boot: UK US trunk a covered space at the back of a car, for storing things in: I always keep a blanket and a toolkit in the boot for emergencies. Stolen goods were found in the boot of her car.

bonnet noun [ C ] (METAL COVER) UK US hood the metal cover over the part of a car where the engine is: I looked under the bonnet and clouds of smoke poured out.

It's nothing to be concerned about because I suspect Djoos' injury is sufficiently serious that he won't be back this season.  Or if he does return, it would be so close to the playoffs that, if others are still playing well, they wouldn't shove him back in the lineup relatively unprepared for (hopefully) the playoffs.

I think you’re right Black!
I just read where Djoos had something called “Compartment Syndrome”!  I’d never heard of it!
Apparently it’s quite serious, although rare, and can require emergency surgery, once positively diagnosed!

Briefly, our individual muscles are all held within very thin little membranes, called fasciae. Like a baggy around a large muscle. These are referred to as “compartments”.
In larger muscles, (Djoos thigh muscle), if it gets bruised internally, it can swell to the point of restricting the arterial blood flow, killing the muscle fibers, AND nerve cells to the muscle, causing permanent irreversible damage, including partial paralysis!

I saw a photo of the completed emergency procedure on an upper thigh muscle. They split the whole damn muscle up the middle of its entire length along the leg!  Had no idea it was such a big deal! But we won’t be seeing Djoos anytime soon!

yep, and it’s damn shame.  He could probably play perfect games ang get GHTs every game and they’d  still send him domi because he ain’t enough of a pussy.

But yeah man, he’s been Hersey’s shutdown Dman and still managed to get a few points despite the train week GMBetaMale has allowed Hershey to become.

I’ve been a fan since I found out he DEYSTROED the combine he was in, top 3 in damn near everything in every physical test!  Hell he probably is top 3 or top in everything in the weight room for Tge Caps, provides they let him lift🤣

Then this looks very bad for The Caps.  Primary causes are repetitive inpact and over training, which makes sense if your training is focused on skating.

We’ve all seen Djoos play, and it’s safe to say he didn’t overtrain in upper body workouts. As his strength has been a concern, and given the woman’s-hockey The Caps prefer, whether he was strong enough to endure the volume of skating/leg focused workouts given to him should be asked.

Even if he comes back, there’s a chancd won’t be physically close to being effective as he was.  But that’s an “if”, as theres a good chance his career his done.

The guy is too small, by NHL D-man standards, no doubt. Great hockey IQ, though.
He not the guy who’s going to physically move people very much. He does bring puck up very reliably, with smarter passes, but has no business in the crease!!

I think Djoos may be facing other factors, as well, which would work against an assumed, automatic return, EVEN IF, he fully recovers.
IMO, there’s an atmosphere present, with the team, of quite a few young fellas, taking advantage of playing opportunities. From both forwards, and defenseman!
Bowey, Siegenthaler, and Lewington, are all getting Rierdens attention! Don’t forget about Orpik either! I think hes due back soon.

My point is that by the time Djoos would even be physically ready, we’ll be in the last quarter of the season, where there’s a good chance that at least one of those youngsters will have earned a spot!!
Also, at that point in the season, teams with playoff potential are trying to solidify the roster a bit more! Djoos, who I like, may not even be in the conversation until late next summer!

Sorry DC, just re-read the first part of your post.

I believe Djoos received a deep muscle bruise, near the end of the last game he played recently!
Although compartment syndrome happens very rarely, I do remember the Caps organization mentioning that Djoos underwent emergency surgery, less than 24 hrs after the injury, due to “complications” related to his injury. Seems it may have been a thigh muscle, but I’m not 100% sure
