Caps singed Kumpfer, 5 years at $5.25M per. I think that’s too much, but hopefully I’m wrong.


and…

The Caps signed UFA Charlie Lindgren for 3 years at $1.1M per. He was the backup in St Louis last year.


The goal tending is taken care of, can’t tell if it’s fixed yet. Now they need defense, two of them.

Well I guess that's that then.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Kuemper, but then I've really only seen him play in this past year's SC games.
Looking at his career stats -he has pretty good consistent stats even with playing for Arizona for 4 years.  I guess he decided one Cup was enough so he'd come to Washington and get paid....(with a deal that is at least two years too long IMO).


I wanted an established #1, but damn....couldn't we find a guy who would help bring the team age down?  Caps signed for too long a deal as usual.  $5.5m might be okay over the next 2-3 years, but those last two are gonna hurt.


He's a big goober at 6'-5" though.  At least when he gets too old too move his body still blocks most of the net.


Caps must have been really fed up with bipolar play of both of last years guys.

Sammy signs a one year deal with Toronto for $1.8m.  Not a great deal for Sammy I don't think.  Fair enough price, but one year...


And Giroux signs for three years with Ottowa at $19.5m.  Ouch - that seem steep for a 34 year old center.  Wait....how old is Backy?.....how much does he make?

Chucky Sideburns (Charlie Lindgren) played 5 games with us last year and won all 5 games.

He wants to be a #1 and I hope your goalie coach is good. He's a work in progress with a good strong mental game and has true #1 potential - IMO

Last I checked, our goalie coach was named Biscuit and chases pucks around the ice that have been smeared with peanut butter..  Hopefully they upgrade in the offseason or he'll break both our news guys, imo..
