First power play needs to change up the personnel I think (other than Ovi, keep him there). Tired of these assholes thinking that stick handling through 4 players is the best way to enter the zone. Tired of the lack of battle / puck retrieval when they do manage to get it in.you seem surprised. . .
Also sick and tired of the passes to fucking no where. I feel like I haven't seen a crisp tape to tape pass since mid December or something FFS. Way too much of that "throw the puck somewhere and hope another Caps player is there to get it." Well maybe look with your goddamn eyes first to see where people are.

All good comments here. Caps played much better than previous two games, but still not the team that won the cup, not even close. I see a number of players at various times just standing around looking instead of battling. Bring back the fight and the pride boys!

Not a great game but thought the caps outplayed them. Goaltender won it.
Caps should have been better overall, and the end sucked by us, but we were better about 60% of the game.
And Brent Johnson and the other bafoon on Caps post game live have no business being sports announcers.
I know Brent played and is knowledgeable but he is painful to listen too. I've never liked the other guy...especially when he ran his yap (last year) about Holtby having a shutout when there was still a period to play. Thought (and really wished) Alan May was going to slug him. Of course he jinxed it.

Another guy that needs to pick up his play is Backstrom, he turned the puck over and then failed to cover Seguin on the game winning goal. Our top two line centers need to pick it up if the Caps are going to have any success. Eller has probably been our best center in the last few games.
Seems like the lower line guys, who have had to earn their TOI, every game, are the ones who seem more energized!
Kuzy, especially, playin like the gear shift is in neutral, at best! Almost like he’s satisfied at “participation trophy” effort level sometimes. He’s gotta really start bringing it, and quickly!

Agreed. I like Brent as a general hockey dude and he usually has hockey intelligent things to say. He just isn't very good at speaking.
Rob is a dweeb. Always had the impression he was shining everyone on until he gets a real announcer gig somewhere. Who knows. I thought there was real tension between him and Alan May early on. May has called him out a few times, and it seems they get along fine now.
Joe B is my favorite sports announcer anywhere and he calls an excellent game. He actually calls the game well and keeps up with the play and so on. I've always liked him and Locker together, but probably couldn't tolerate Locker without Joe B if he ever decided to move on.
When you're in situations like this (6 goals in 3 games) you get out of it by throwing rubber at the net. Eller did that last night and scored. Way too often we get in a great position to shoot and inexplicably try another pass. (Yea, that's you Kuz and Burakovsky) Stop the cutesy stuff and shoot. You'll find that pucks start going in.
The PP is another issue. Teams have figured out how to break up our entries by putting a picket fence of 4 guys on the blueline or in the neutral zone. In that case you have to get it in deep and get in there and outwork your opponent. Nobody is going to give you anything. We simply aren't working hard enough on the PP. The advice about shooting goes for the PP, too. Get people in front and shoot the puck.
