How do you mess up a shoulder bad enough to need surgery in 20 minutes of skating? Did he fall into the boards? Did he get checked into the boards? I would not think there would be checking 20 minutes into the 1st practice.
(Did he perhaps trip over his pouting lip?) Okay, scratch that. Not nice, but he DID wet his bed here so I didn't have much sympathy for him being traded to Detroit. I did wish him well and hoped he'd find his game there. Sucks to get hurt anyway.
What a bummer for him and Detroit both.

Yea, sucks for him. Weird injuries happen I guess. Kempny tripped over a shovel guy at Hershey practice and fucked his knee up..
