McMichael turns 20 next month, which I presume (under Junior rules) means he will no longer play in Juniors but can play in Hershey. The Caps' first three centers are set, so if he were to play for the Caps in 2021 he'd have to play wing. On the other hand, he could play a consistent 15-20 minutes a game as a top-6 center in Hershey. So what would be best for his development?
An unrelated thought: So much of NHL drafting evaluation is based on players' development paths as they begin to mature through teenage years. This pandemic interruption may really play havoc with drafting decisions in the next draft or two.
