Yep, maybe he can Dylan's place as he's hopefully on the chopping block[insert dancing banana]
Defenseman Michal Kempny was traded to the Washington Capitals on Monday by the Chicago Blackhawks for a conditional third-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.
Kempny, an undrafted free agent who agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Blackhawks on May 24, 2016, has 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in 81 NHL games, including seven points (one goal, six assists) and is plus-13 in 31 games this season.
The Blackhawks (25-26-8, 58 points) are last in the Central Division, 11 points behind the Minnesota Wild for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference. They have not missed the playoffs since the 2007-08 season and have won the Cup three times during that stretch.
The Capitals (33-18-7, 73 points) are one point behind the Pittsburgh Penguins for first place in the Metropolitan Division entering their game at the Buffalo Sabres on Monday (3 p.m. ET; SN1, MSG-B, NBCSWA, NHL.TV).
Chicago will receive the higher of Washington's own third round draft choice or the third-round pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Washington acquired the Toronto draft pick from the New Jersey Devils as part of the Marcus Johansson trade on July 2, 2017.

I haven't seen a lot of him but what I did see wasn't anything impressive. He doesn't really have a lot if NHL experience. I'm curious what their plans are for him. Is he going to be in the lineup or is he going to be a depth player. I was really hoping we would deal for a more experienced defender that could step into the lineup.

I think we will see several moves this year and I expect them to make more sense than previous years. I'm hoping to see Jack Johnson here soon. Certainly not excited about the prospect of MG52.

I don't expect much else, even this surprised me. Caps have nothing to trade with unless they move a top 6 guy

I would have no problem if they acquired Jack Johnson or maybe Mcdonaugh. Not sure what we would have to give up for that.
