Couldn't even get one of the Lamoureux twins for Oshie deal done.. :'( lol.. I think in this instance, no news is good news.. Once this season is over with, I honestly think Ted will pull the plug and get an actual GM in here! Won't he? :cross:

Well, from a certain point of view. . . its better that we (maybe) did nothing. There is simply to much needed on this team to make a run at the dead line.
However, we know that isn't the case. What ever was (or still is) out there they where looking for, our front office couldn't get it done, either by not having or willing to part with certain assets, and/or passing the ability to manipulate the other GM into making it a bargain for us (see GMGM, Ottawa, NYR, and Hens as examples).
Either way, anything short of a firesale isn't gonna do much good for some time.

Agreed.
Unfortunately, having done nothing [at least nothing reported yet] makes me think the Caps are planning on re-signing Carlson.
