not that I pay that much attention to this kind of stuff, Ive always made more at the sports book when I dont, but they say the Caps chances are better this year than last. Not because the Caps got better, but because most teams in front of them lost key personnel....

Caps have a roster of 20 players and cap space of 2,668,740.
That is with Sammy NOT on the roster and unsigned. It will likely require 2.5m of that left cap money to sign him to a 2-3 year bridge contract.
Which means...
The Caps have zero cap space (again)
And not a single d-man under 30 years old (and who the heck is Caps 33 year old D-man Matt Irwin?)
