New Lines

(1/3) > >>

4 Caps:
Based on practice today it appears that Trotz is shaking up the lines for tomorrow’s game against the Flyers.  The 1st line has Ovie playing with Kuzy and Wilson.  The 2nd line has Backstrom centering Burakovsky and Oshie which as I recall was how it was in the beginning of the season.  The 3rd line has Eller centering Connolly and Stephenson and the 4th line appears to be Beagle centering Smith-Pelly and either Chiasson or Vrana as they were rotating during line rushes today.

In a way I hate to see him break up the Connolly, Eller, Oshie line because that line was on fire.  It is also interesting that he is separating Ovie and Backstrom.  I doubt whether that will last long.  I am happy to see Burakovsky playing in the top 6.  He played well last night and had several quality scoring chances, it is a shame he didn’t convert any of them.  It was good to see him skating hard and getting open.  Finally, I don’t see Vrana staying on the 4th line or healthy scratch for long.

This is very close to lines I was hoping for.

DC_1908:
I wish they’d do this more, in fact I wish to hell they’d do this way more.

The Caps blind devotion to Pavlovian Business Theory of “Lines” certainly is a significant factors on sloppy plays, turnovers, 60 shot games while scoring one goal, and bad games in general.

The more you keep the same players in same groupie doing the same plays, the more data you give to the opponent to devise systems to beat and disrupt it.  Making t that much easier for them to play you.

I don't think that's the issue with this team
