anticipated lineup for game 3 at Nationals @ 7:45pm

Dodgers
RF Joc Pederson
1B Max Muncy
3B Justin Turner
CF Cody Bellinger
LF A.J. Pollock
SS Corey Seager
2B Gavin Lux
C Russell Martin
P Hyun-Jin Ryu

Ryu, 32, put together a Cy Young-caliber performance during the regular season, going 14-5 with a 2.32 ERA and a 163/24 K/BB ratio in 182 2/3 innings of work. In his two starts against the Nationals, he allowed just one run on nine hits and two walks with 13 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings. The Nats will certainly have their work cut out for them.

Nationals
SS Trea Turner
RF Adam Eaton
3B Anthony Rendon
LF Juan Soto
1B Howie Kendrick
C Kurt Suzuki
2B Brian Dozier
CF Michael A. Taylor
P Aníbal Sánchez

Sánchez gets the nod over Max Scherzer, who started the NL Wild Card game against the Brewers and threw an inning out of the bullpen in Game 2 of the NLDS on Friday. While Sánchez is no Scherzer, he can certainly hold his own. He finished with a 3.85 ERA during the regular season and held his own against the Dodgers during the regular season, particularly in his July 26 home start in which he limited the Blue Crew to a lone run across seven innings

Two men on base, no outs, can't manufacture a run. Then give up a quick run. They're better off me not watching. Plus baseball is too slow. I have better things to do.

I've been keeping tabs. Let's see if they can convert a bases loaded no outs situation into some runs.

OMG!  Not even my 10 year old little league boys would make a base running mistake like that.  Are you sure this is a MLB National League team?

That change up strike out was the first good thing I've seen the Nats do this game. Not impressed by this team. So many mistakes. It's a wonder to me they are in the postseason.

Whew!  Escaped that mess after giving the fans a heart attack! Three innings left to come back. Think they can get 4 or more runs?

Nats continue to stun me with their stupidity. Who coaches these idiots? They make baseball 101 mistakes.

Been catching the last 3-4 innings.

LA’s 2 out rally was a downer, but we had the start of coming back strong.
Bases loaded, bad pitch, run scores, sac fly for another Nats run!

THEN....a major idiotic, base running fuck up!
Way more damaging than its singular face value!! This is NOT Preseason, or early spring. It’s the POST season!! That UNDISCIPLINED CRAP is inexcusable!!

A MENTAL mistake, that, although was only ONE incident, yet actually represents and symbolizes the complete LACK OF EMPHASIS, on FUNDAMENTALS, in the modern day MLB, and all the major sports, of modern day, for that matter!

You would NEVER have seen such a mental lapse, back in the day!
AND...on the extremely rare chance that it would have happened, you can bet it would’ve been met with good sized, disciplinary, consequences!!
NOT the pussified, no guts, “passive acceptance”, we witness today!!

Management will carefully construct a media response that will include something along the lines of, “We’ve spoken to him, and are satisfied that he knows, as a professional, what is expected, moving forward.”  Blah, Blah, Blah!!

I respect those who have the mental strength to shove aside, and tolerate, in their brains, this chronically ongoing, and shaded, “cheap-sell”, by MLB management and media, of their over-glorified product, “they” call MLB!
Im sincerely envious of those who can “let go”, of this part of the game, and allow themselves to freely enjoy the rest of the good sport entertainment, that is baseball!!

I’ve tried. I can’t.
Simply meaning that I can still watch periodically, but can’t immerse too much!!

Still, GO NATS!!

Glad to see I'm not the only one surprised at the level of play I am witnessing. Really shocked me.

Hmm. Announcer said that 6 Washington Nationals pitchers deal outside. Don't they pay these guys enough money? Do they have to resort to dealing on the street?

Two words:

OOH FAH

Nats have no bullpen.  They have some closers good for one inning, but nothing middle.  Been there problem all year.  If the starter doesn't go 7 stellar innings, the Nats don't win.
You don't win playoffs that way.

AND

base running mistakes to kill a rally?  Really?

Bases loaded no outs and then....

Can't leave the number of runners stranded the Nats do and expect to beat a really good team...in the playoffs....more than once.

Does it bother anyone else that Rodney can't wear his hat properly?  I know I'm old school and I'm sure their is some reason for it, but it looks silly.  Is he a gangsta?

Maybe he could wear his jersey inside out, and then nobody would know who he really is and the Nats could then disguise him as an actual relief pitcher.   :uh-huh:

Rodney is known for wearing his cap tilted at an angle toward the left side of his head. He said in 2016 that it came about as a tribute to his father, who was a fisherman. Ulise Rodney also wore his cap tilted to the side because that was the side the sun hit his face. Rodney also said the tilted cap could be confusing for both hitters and baserunners. "The hitter looks for your eyes. It's like a dog. When you go somewhere, the first thing (a dog) looks at is your eyes and how you move."”
