Back in the early `80s in my first computer job after leaving the military was fixing computer issues. My first question to users was always, "Have you checked the O - N - O - F - F switch" (spelled it out instead of saying on-off). They were like, "Huh!" Seriously, many times they did not even know to turn the damn terminal on.
