Matt Niskanen and Dmitrij Jaskin return to the lineup against the St. Louis Blues

After taking a scary hit into the boards and being scratched for five consecutive games, both Matt Niskanen and Dmitrij Jaskin will be back into the lineup against the bottom-feeding St. Louis Blues.

For Jaskin, this is a chance to get revenge against the team who waived him this past fall.

To make room for Jaskin and Niskanen’s returns, Devante Smith-Pelly has been scratched and originally it looked like Brooks Orpik would be in the press box as well.

It was later revealed that Jonas Siegenthaler will be the healthy scratch on defense and Orpik will play on the third pairing with Madison Bowey.

Braden Holtby gets the nod tonight in net, so it’s assumed Pheonix Copley will take on the Dallas Stars tomorrow evening on the second half of the back-to-back.

I am excited about the new top 2 lines.  These were the lines they used in playoffs last spring and we know they were very successfull.  Because of Wilson’s suspension and Kuzy’s injury that line has only played together in two games this season, against the Wild and Jets in which game Kuzy got hurt. 


Caps need to win this game, Pittsburgh is red hot and only a point behind us although we have two games in hand.

He obviously doesn't realize that I've been posting that graphic every time the opponent scores lately. Of course in his mind it's all about him. I was just fine tuning his next ban. This one will be a week. Next one a month, and then after that it's permanent. We don't need this passive-aggressive verbal diarrhea here. Everyone else gets along even if they disagree. We've given this social misfit enough chances and used kid gloves on him. That has now changed.
