It was an excellent exiting game to watch. It came down to puck luck. We just didn't get the bounces and the Hens did.

    Agreed. That was pretty much the difference. Murray was very lucky tonight.

I think Carlson might be hurt.  There were a lot of times that he needed to skate hard to get in position and make a play, but he couldn't do it. Maybe a slight hamstring or something because he definitely would have tried if he could.

Agreed. I was surprised to see how weak his shots were. I swear one could not have been more than 50mph.

When did Carlson get hurt/look gimpy? I didn't notice.. I thought Orlov looked slow a couple times. Have a little forward depth but the D could get sketchy in a hurry.. Orpik can't get healthy soon enough.

He seemed that way to me the entire game. I did not notice any event or time it began.

it looked to me like the team spent too much effort in the 2nd trying to get OV a goal/point, the passing tonight sucked ass mostly from the D but O too. And that last goal of the Caps that got called back looked like it should’ve counted....

   The outcome sucked but the game itself wasnt bad. We got beat on puck luck this game. Murray got beat so many times but the puck just wouldnt go in for us. Our dcore was a bit shaky again. No one really stood out this game. Holtby was probably our best player. Ovi was good but couldn't buy a goal.
     I'd like to see Reirden mix up the lines a bit. I think Wilson should be with Ivi and Backstrom and Oshie on the Kuzy line.

   This has been highly effective against our pond hockey systems, and got them both of their goals last night, and was only really stopped in the playoffs when we went to a lock against them and stopped it.

It’s so frustrating to watch how the Caps seem to let the Hens control the crease, at will!
This is the one area that really exposes the bad side of our D men.
Carlson especially, with all of his good offensive contributions, is exposed, PARTICULARLY with his pathetic crease defense!
Watching him try to check Hornquist, or anyone else in front of the net, is like watching a dog dealing with a housefly! He has NO effect on clearing the crease! At 6’3”, 215, it’s even more lame than average!!👎👎
To be fair, #74 isn’t the only one guilty of this, and Orlov has been really bad all
season, so far!


 We actually saw Pittsburgh with a lot of meaningless cycling, on the perimeter, last night!
THAT is a good thing, but  Pittsburgh in particular, plays for that sloppy, crease shit, and does it better than anybody in the league! Both goals were very lucky, BUT, they create MORE opportunities for that to happen, than other teams.
 Other than it was a lost to Pittsburgh, I don’t feel that bad because we played pretty good overall.
Hell, watching Wilson man handle Oleksiak was practically worth the price of admission!!

Rush - you wrong on one point - Carlson did not "try" to clear the crease!  He just stood around.  Pitiful.  I don't know why Holtby doesn't get on him. Oh well, at least he is consistent and we know what to expect.

Well outcome sucked but I thought we outplayed them.  Yes we are shaky on D, but DC should finally be happy.....a physical 2-1 game where Wilson destroyed someone 


And I don't know how you can call Pond Hockey for THIS game DC....I didn't see any of that.  We looked a little rusty with our passing, but We certainly had some chances that just didn't go in.


Can't believe Milbury and Jones spending the amount of time calling on payback for Willy.  You imagine if DC comms said that?
