Bowey had a tough game against Vegas, took a penalty and got beat on another play so I am not surprised he is sitting. Coaches seem to have more confidence in Djoos and I think he for the most part has played well. It would help if he could put on a few more pounds.
I give a slight edge to Djoos myself. Although small, he has very good hockey IQ. There could be situations where Bowey may be the better choice, but since Rierden is dealing with a good variety of defenseman that make mistakes, in all kinds of areas, he opts for Djoos, as the generally smarter player, over Bowey with more physicality.
It’s a good thing that Bowey plays a little more aggressively, but it also makes his mistakes, appear more obvious. As Bowey plays smarter, he will earn more TOI!
