No, your the one that's wrong, and it doesn't matter how long you berate us with your opinion about it.

The NFL is dying in this country because these entitled assholes went to London to play, stood respectfully for their anthem then took a knee for ours. It doesn't realy have that much to do with patriotism. It's more about respect, and more importantly, the reason these athletes are protesting is based on lies.

So the Canadian has a hard time understanding why American fans of an an American team in the American capital has a player unwilling to set his personal issues aside for the team to go to the American White House ....... and then tells us we “don’t understand” and we are seeing it from an American perspective?   No shit Sherlock.

DSP has the freedom not to go and the freedom to express his opinion.  No one is being forced to print his words.  It's being publicized because it brings eyeballs to the news sites.  The media isn't impartial as they claim.  They prefer stories of a particular nature.

Regarding Trump and his fitness for office.  The US Constitution clearly lays out the qualifications.  They were met.  You may not like it, but practically anyone can be President.  We have just proven this.  I also think this is an interesting test of our tricameral system.  No one person in our system can become dictator for life.
Trump is the result of certain party doing their best to find the only candidate that could loose to Trump.

Yeah! I mean I get it, DSP doesn't like Trump. He finds him to be racist. But I feel like this is one of those situations where...just grin and bear it, be a good sport, don't be all about you and your feelings and let your TEAM have an experience of a lifetime.

Huh?  And the President hasn't already consistently demonstrated that EVERYTHING is about him and his feelings?  The problem here is that Donald Trump has taken an elegant and revered institution and turned it into the equivalent of a barroom food fight.  If DSP doesn't want to go to the White House, that's his right (free speech and all; if money is speech, than attendance/nonattendance certainly is).

What prevents the President from inviting the Caps to the White House, and if everyone but one player shows up, or if half a dozen players don't show up, simply greet and congratulate the people who are there?  I don't see this thing about if DSP doesn't go than nobody can/should go.  We know what if anything would prevent it -- the President's ego.  If he feels slighted in any way he'll find some way to demean the process or turn the attention back on him.

As for such a visit, free speech goes in both directions; if other players decide they want to go, they should have that right as well.
