I've lost ALL Respect for DSP. I'm PISSED!

I'm not saying I agree with his decision but I do respect it. I'd rather see him go.

Agree to disagree.

I don’t agree with DSP’s decision.  And I don’t respect it either.  This isn’t about him, it’s about the team.  Thomas should’ve sucked it up and so should he.

It's more about team unity, play together, go together. Plus it is a long standing tradition. Trump is an odd president, but he is the president of the US, and the people had voted for him.

I never said I agreed with DSP.  Why is it so important that DSP go to the White House?

You guys are looking at this from an American perspective. If the situation was reversed and the team was invited by the government if another nation. Would you guys care if a player refused to go. Probably not.

For all the "entitlement" talk you see from older generations, the extreme Patriotism I see in the country sometimes reminds me of entitlement. "HE HAS TO SHOW THE EXACT LEVELS OF RESPECT WE DO FOR OUR GOVERNMENT, OR ELSE PITCHFORKS!"

If an athlete didn't care about visiting my PM I wouldn't care. That isn't patriotism. When my fellow Albertans race to the need of fellow Fort McMurray citizens due to a massive wildfire that burns down half the city? Now THAT is Patriotism I'll get behind. Supporting your country doesn't mean "you must support every facet of every decision of every person of everything ever done."

But it seems to binary to some people. You either are a patriot and follow all the tenants, or you aren't. The world isn't binary. It's grey, always grey.
