So glad we WON at HOME.  I'm guessing there was very little of that hang-your-head feeling in that arena...even when we weren't perfect.  I'd like to think that the here-we-go-again-we're-going-to-lose-this negativity in the stands has diminished.  Looks/sounds that way to me, anyway.  Has to feel good to the players!

I will enjoy watching the game again tomorrow morning while drinking coffee from my lucky Caps mug!  Staying up late again to watch post-game stuff (has contributed to terrible sleeping patterns this spring)!!

You know, I think you're right about that.  I think it's because (have mentioned before) Alan May is getting to talk less, Rob Carlin talks more.  I've stopped watching the Grant Paulsen show that follows Alan May/Carlin...probably because it is more fluff than substance.

  They played a great game. My only complaint is the bonehead play by Holtby. He cost himself a shutout.

Great to get the win but we'll need to play better on Monday.  Vegas will be desperate and tonight's effort won't do it.  We spent too much time in our own end and made too many boneheaded plays that could have ended up in our net.  We also need to get back to the physical play of Game 2 and skate more.  We were flatfooted way too often tonight in long stretches.  Orlov had a terrible game and almost singlehandedly gave up 3-4 scoring chances.  The ice seemed bad too as the puck was bouncing around.

I think that with the realization that they are two games away from the cup that motivation and confidence will be on our side.  I've said it since before the series and especially after game 1, we are clearly the better team and this is ours to lose.  With the amazing strength of character the Caps have found I just don't see us letting this slip away.  Also, you have to believe that we have thrown a truckload of doubt into the Golden Knights heads; something they are not used to having.  Knock on wood, I like our chances a lot.  This is the Caps team we knew was in there somewhere. if only they could pull it all together consistently we always thought. Now they finally did and even with a bunch of new guys they are dominating. I am enjoying the heck out of this.

Wherever they win I'm sure there will be a huge party in DC within days of the win. The Caps will be there with the Cup to share the moment with the fans.  Knock on wood!

One piece of disturbing news though.  Orpik didn't play the last 13 minutes of the game after taking a blow to the head, and his status is uncertain at the moment.  Remember, even if he's sort of OK, there is a league concussion protocol now that needs to be followed if he is judged to have a potential problem.

Trotz just came out and said he was fine and he'll be playing.
