I disagree. I was fully expecting Vegas to be much better. They do have some skill players, but Without some of our dumb mistakes, Vegas didn’t look good to me.

To answer your question, YES!  Milbury might say good things about the Caps BEFORE or AFTER the game, but during the game or intermissions he is a CAPS hater.

How can you even enjoy the game if all your doing is thinking about how they don't stand a chance?  Have some weed or alcohol or both and relax mate! Hello all...watched the game offline tonight with friends.  Not the right ending...and not even sure what collectively went wrong beyond some individual, blatant mistakes and referees who went temporarily blind at moments when someone from the Knights crushed a Capital, or put him in headlock, etc.  I hated the refs who stood there and watched that crap. 


On a positive note, I loved that we scored 4 goals on the invincible Fleury...loved that we had lots of white jerseys in front of their net frequently instead of dancing around the perimeter all night. 


Also was very happy to see so many red shirts in the stands...was hoping Caps fans would break out in a chant, honestly.




Pregame show was ridiculous...we were laughing at how junior-high-silly it looked.

It's really simple now.  Win game 2 or you aren't winning the series.  Vegas is not Columbus.  No way they'll lose four of five if we go down by two.

When laughing with friends during the pregame Vegas show/circus I was thinking, "maybe this is why the Canadians don't like the Americans in their hockey league"...


And btw...Rob Carlin bugs me...it is striking me now while watching Caps Extra that he has that talking-head/"journalist" spin on these games that has irritated the heck out of me for a long time (e.g., gushing about that stupid pregame show).  Sorry if this offends, but grown men who've never actually played sports (and now make a lot of money just talking about sports) should reign it in a bit when sharing time in front of the camera with people who actually have played.  Sometimes I wish Alan May would just pop him.  (Okay...got all of my aggression out there...)

Seems to be that same general pattern...the other team (who ever opposes the Caps) is the team on the ice doing (all the good) things and the announcers, every once in a while, remember that there actually is another team on the ice (Caps).  I thought maybe this was a pattern specific to the Pens/Caps match ups and I didn't hear it as much during the Caps/Lightning series.  But my take is that NBC cannot wait to keep telling the fairy tale Vegas story, over and over, and will be disappointed if the Caps ruin that narrative and win the Cup.

You nailed it. It's been obvious for a couple years since Carlin came on that Alan May would love to pop him and has very often berated him, teased and insulted him on air.  I get the sense they have become a little more friendly and Alan now tolerates him a little more. but still gets annoyed with him.

 I think they have for some reason an anti-Capitals bias. It's worse when they are calling games against their lover boy Pens or Rags.  It appears to  pain them to have to say good things about the Caps.
