Not nearly enough forecheck by Caps. Too loose in our own end. Holtby too skittish on a couple goals. We might have lost tonight anyway but how the hell does somebody miss a blatant crosscheck in front of the net that leads to a goal? That was pathetic. Somebody needs to take a two hander to Reaves' ankles. One game and I already can't stand that oaf. Eller sucked tonight too, not just on the missed empty netter. Ovie didn't really show up, either. This team is beatable. If we'd gotten up by 2 at any point, they'd have gone into panic mode. Between some of the dirtball plays and that opening chintzy shit show, I really want to beat these mothers badly now.

It's hard to imagine the Caps didn't learn from the TB series what works and what doesn't. They need to play structured hockey and clog the neutral zone. Need to get pucks in deep and work the boards against a pretty average D corp of Vegas. They need to be sharp and tape to tape getting pucks out of their zones as Vegas pushes 5 in to forecheck. Play simple hockey and don't try to do too much and they will be fine. All the fancy ass shit doesn't work against a team playing north/south hockey. Just plain fucking stupid.
