The expansion rules were very good for Vegas compared to other expansion franchises. I'm not a Jets fan. I'm not a fan if any Canadian teams although I like the Jets better than the other Canadian teams. I was actually hoping Nashville would cone out if the west.
About the Vegas team. I don't hate Vegas. It isn't their fault the expansion rules were so favorable. Its Bettmans fault. Had to make sure thus team succeeds. Its all about the money.

And the thing is, when Seattle comes into the league shortly, since it will be so close to the Vegas start-up the same rules will HAVE to apply. The league can't be seen as giving Vegas a certain level of ability to acquire talent and then RIGHT AWAY not giving the next franchise the same opportunity.

It’s a Monday morning. Please tell me the acaps are still up 2-0 in the series. And that it wasn’t just a dream.

Hopefully the team will now remember the first-round series with the Jackets. 2-0 on the opponents' ice is nice, but .....
One nice thing is that there is no pressure at this point to get Backstrom back in the lineup. I think he is pretty seriously hurt, and it may even be that the organization is trying to hold out the possibility of his return as a public ploy, all the while knowing that he is done for the playoffs and needs the off-season to recover from this injury. IF this is really the case, and IF the Caps somehow find a way to win 6 more games, I'm going to feel for Backstrom. He would deserve to be called champion for his play, not for sitting in the rumble seat. :(

They probably will keep the format, but I highly doubt they will be successful as Vegas, maybe not even close.
The obvious reason being the other GMs have a better idea of who and/or what to protect, and in hindsight, would of done the Vegas draft differently. Most GMs treated the expansion draft like a pickup game. They protected the "stars" and/or "future stars", with contracts being secondary concern and what players to keep from Vegas being last. All but assuming thats what
The Seattle GM will not be GMGM (who was perfect for this), but will also now have to face the GMs after going through this draft format once, AND is competing with NFL and MLB in the same market.
