I'm sure there was a BBS that you could dial in to on your 56.6 modem.

That is something I did a lot back in the `80s and VERY early 90's. In the late `80s Compuserve and AOL kind of  pushed BBS slowly to the side.  In `98 most businesses were at least looking into building a website if they didn't have one already. I recall an NHL website, but not NHL forums that far back. I used to have multiple phone lines and multiple modems so I could dial out, people could dial into my RBBS, AND I could talk on the phone. The 90s saw such a dramatic change. Land lines to mobile phones and RBBS to Internet, and prices dropped like a rock on computer equipment.

In 1987 I paid $12k for a single computer, and that was at discount. It was priced normally over $14k. I worked for an IBM reseller and got a "deal". IBM PS/2 Model 80 with ALL the add-ons and trimmings. I sold it in 1991 for $2k and I was lucky to get that.

The world is changing fast. Hell, the Caps are playing with heart.  Big series starts tonight. If we keep on the same pace as far as effort we should do well. I am so psyched up for tonight. The last three days went by a little too slowly for me. Good time to heal for our guys though.

KitFisto:
No Backstrom,  no win. Hope I'm wrong.

KitFisto:
Sitting here I have a sick feeling about game 1. Like a 5-1 or 6-1 loss. I don't think every game will be that way, just a very bad feeling about tonight being a statement game for the Bolts. Please let me be wrong. I'd feel very different if Backstrom were 100%.

You weren't positive about the last series chances either. If you don't mind, I won't mind.  ;)

First game of any series can be tough, but I have faith we will prevail in the series.

I went back to see a few predictions you made recently, just for grins.  Given your record for predictions I will say that I LOVE your prediction for tonight.

--- Quote from: KitFisto on Thursday April 26, 2018, 09:53:37 PM Eastern ---I didn't watch. I score checked. We have ZERO chance of winning this series and you know it. It's NOT gonna happen. I'm not just being negative. We all know this WILL end. I'd bet anything on it.

--- Quote from: KitFisto on Saturday May 05, 2018, 09:08:52 PM Eastern ---Since you're new, I'll explain. Pens vs Caps in playoffs equals Pens win. No, this year won't be different and neither will next year or 10 years from now.

--- Quote from: KitFisto on Monday May 07, 2018, 06:54:03 PM Eastern ---I'm sorry, but I see this being a Pens blowout with this lineup which will give them all the momentum going into game 7 where we always fail.

I think what ArJ is saying is KitFisto has a bad gut :P
but if the Caps come home at 1-1 they will be in a good place

On the bright side, the Caps are on 106.7 tonight, and the Nats are in the backseat on 99.1. Bout fukin time.
