I heard this on EpN this AM. . . Walton lost his shit!

Good day, good day, good day!!  Love the Junkies on the radio after a Caps win!  Could listen to Caps victory talk on the radio all day today--they deserve it.  Victory makes the day so much nicer.

DC_1908:
Well that’s done. . . Not like we need reminded “first time in 20yrs” by anyone anymore. . .

But, let’s not get to wrapped up in drama and storyline.

This was a trap game for the Hens, we where just forced to set it.  Think about how often, and in how many big games we’ve played each other over the past 10years.  Then consider the relativ small changes to our system, personnel, and next to no line changes over that time, and particularly the last two.
Then throw in how our record after three wins in the second round.

We caught the enemy over confident and under prepared.

They had less than a day to adjust schemes, situations and matchups they’ve used for 10years to players in different positions and some they’ve never seen, who are fresh with high energy.

The “way to beat the Caps” is less effective when the lineup and positions shuffle

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to call you on this baloney.

An elimination game can NEVER be a trap game.  C'mon, if the shoe is on the other foot (and heaven knows it has been a number of times over the past decade), you'd NEVER allow the excuses that the opponent had new players in the lineup, or the team didn't have sufficient time to prepare, or the other team's goalie had a great game (which Holtby did last night).  You KNOW you'd say that those types of excuses are for losers.  So if you're not going to allow that kind of thinking to let the Caps off the hook when they lose, then don't use it to minimize what they accomplished last night under what were challenging circumstances for them.

If I recall, a few weeks ago you said they weren't going to win even a single game in the second round.  And if I recall, you commented about Tampa being a small and not very strong team at the beginning of the playoffs.  Funny how perceptions can change in a few weeks.
